I am a bilingual licensed social worker who especializes in individual, couples and family therapy.
My specialities are life transitions, grief and loss, parent-child conflict, acculturation and the treatment of compulsive buying and other addictions.
I have 15 years of experience providing suppport to individuals, couples and families who are struggling at a certain moment in their lives. I have worked with people from different cultural backgrounds and I believe in the healing power of a positive therapeutic relationship and collaboration between therapist and client. I believe clients are experts in their own lives and my role is to accompany, help process, make sense and look for different alternatives when someone feels stuck.

Marcela is an extremely caring, committed and empathetic professional. I always felt safe, secure and protected in working with her. She is an excellent listener and always took great care to respond to all my assignments with detailed commentary, suggestions and insights. She helped me to understand my behavior better and to give me the tools and clarity I need to deal with my challenges. She also went out of her way to follow up with me and keep in touch after the program ended to make sure I was keeping on track and meeting my goals.
