Tara from sweet harmony was very quick with our correspondence and helping us chose what we wanted for our wedding. We decided on a violinist and cellist they were prompt and did a wonderful job, we received many compliments on the duo. Highly suggest.
I have been hiring Dina as a violinist for all my events and could not have been happier! I like her professional attitude, her fun and outgoing personality and exquisite violin playing with perfect technique, sound and lots of feeling. I have hired her to play for my friends' weddings, my parties (New Year's) and anniversaries. My circle of friends are very sophisticated classical music lovers and she never fails to impress them with her level of playing.
All I can say is WOW! Simply amazing. Made our wedding day even more beautiful. Her music was so beautiful and added that exact element we wanted for our wedding ceremony . Dina was super easy to work with, extremely responsive and just made the process stress free and simple. Would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a violinist to play at your next event. Phenomenal 😊
Mariko is a very patient, encouraging and rigorous violin teacher. My 8 year old has been studying with her for 9 months and has improved so much. Mariko emphasizes a very strong foundation, which is the only way to improve. My sons technique is getting stronger. We are so happy with her! Highly recommend.
I felt so lucky to have found Michael on Thumbtack. He was the violinist at a memorial service for my mother, and knew exactly what I wanted as far as the music was concerned. He offered suggestions for pieces we could use that coincided with what I had in mind, and he knew the appropriate amount of time to allot for each piece so the music would not overwhelm the service but enhance it instead, which it did. Michael was easy to contact beforehand and always responded to messages right away. When he performed the audience could tell he was a serious, accomplished musician.
My experience with Clara was incredible. She is not only an amazing violinist but also a professional and fun instructor. I felt very comfortable being under her tutelage as she was patient and understanding whenever we encountered frustrating and stressful moments. Even in those situations, she made the lessons and exercises enjoyable while being firm and direct when necessary. Clara is clearly very talented, and I would highly recommend her as a violin instructor to anybody.
Tiphanie and La Parisienne Band were wonderful. She is professional and provided great communication in setting up arrangements. The band delivered exactly as expected-they put on a great performance that added a very elegant touch to our holiday party. I would highly recommend them!
Jordi has proved expertise and professionalism teaching the violin. He´s always on time, and his lessons are dynamic and entertaining. He excels in encouraging the students to improve in every class. My son has accomplished a lot in quite a short time. We are pleased to having him as our violin professor.
Andrew was my housemate when we were both studying at Berklee College of Music. At that time I was very new to Jazz. As a violinist I struggled on where to start on learning. Andrew really helped and motivated me to practice. He was enthusiastic to teach me and you can clearly tell how passionate he is in music and in teaching people what he knows.
Celine was absolutely wonderful. I hired her to play piano for a recital of very young violinists. She played beautifully and made the kids feel so comfortable. I whole-heartedly recommend her and would love to work with her again in the future.
Caroline played violin for my wedding and did an absolutely wonderful job. She was incredibly professional, easy to work with, and made our ceremony very special and memorable. We could not have picked a better violinist!
Sho is so insanely talented, and was such a pleasure to have play at our wedding. He played solo for us, outside at the Central Park Conservatory Garden. His sound is just so beautiful and incredible. I was nervous about the acoustics since you can't have any amplified sound at the park, but Sho made it work just beautifully. We chose some classical violin solos for our ceremony from a long list he provided. He is so knowledgable of the pieces, and put me at such ease - he told me to take my time with the procession, if we were walking slow and the song was going to run over, he knew how to loop it and keep the music going until everyone was in place. He really knew how to make everything happen seamlessly. I highly recommend Sho! Just to met him was a pleasure. He's a very cool person.
We met Rhiannon while she was a fellow at Community Musicworks in Providence, RI, and was the one-on-one violin teacher to my 12 year old daughter. She connected extremely well with Roma, was disciplined in pushing her to stay focused, and is a patient and talented teacher. We will miss her!
I highly recommend Julia. She did a great job. My guests raved about her.
Gave me violin lessons. Excellent musicianship. Candid, but kind and patient. Would recommend for many levels of violinists.
Naomi is a fantastic teacher and violinist with an acute understanding of her students' personalities and musical abilities. She has an intuitive and thorough approach to her lessons, and really knows how to keep her students engaged in the learning process. I would highly recommend her to anyone interested in violin lessons in the NYC area!
My 2 daughters have been taking violin lessons from Rebecca for over 6 years. She is highly skilled and is patient with her students. She focuses on proper technique while making students feel comfortable. I highly recommend her!
I teach violin and piano to all levels - beginners - adults - group classes etc
Learning a violin can be quite daunting! I myself am aware of that very well, and I am more than happy to help you learn and enjoy music! I give private violin lessons to students of all ages/levels - that is from beginners to advanced students looking for extra help auditioning for major music schools/music festivals and competitions. I can also offer tutoring in music theory lessons/ear training, counseling/preparing for auditions and competitions for students. I am bilingual in Korean/English, so I am able to teach in both languages. I also perform (both solo, chamber ensemble, etc) for various events, concerts and recording sessions. My repertoire varies greatly, from classical/early music to contemporary, and pop/Broadway music. I can also play on Baroque Violin as well, if it is needed for church services. I received a BA in Business and BM in Violin Performance from University of Rochester/Eastman School of Music. Currently, I am attending Juilliard for my master's degree.
I play a full on electric Jordan violin that causes heads to turn- it's a violin and a sculpture!
My commitments as a teacher are to have my students play with solid technique, natural and healthy posture, relaxed and tensionless movements, and musical integrity. Lessons are split into three parts: scales, etudes, and solo repertoire and supplemented with music theory knowledge, improvisation, and ear-training activities. For my youngest students, I teach rhythms, note names, and reading music through games and songs. With experience teaching pre-K through the collegiate level and beyond, I teach students of all ages and levels, custom tailoring lessons to their unique goals, and weekly progress on the instrument. As a teacher, I am constantly re-evaluating and improving my own pedagogy as my primary goals are to understand how each student learns best while simultaneously fostering a lifetime love for the violin and classical music. Lauren is a terrific violin instructor and we absolutely love her! My daughter feels relaxed during her lesson and at ease asking for help or clarification on her pieces. My daughter has learned so much from Lauren, from proper technique to note reading to rhythms, which has greatly enhanced her performance. Lauren always uses positive reinforcement during her lessons, and is always willing to try new techniques to make the lesson time even more effective . But, what's most important, is that my daughter always has fun during her lesson. While she may not always be so enthusiastic to practice at home, she never ever complains about going to her lesson with Lauren. She knows that Lauren will always provide her with a great experience. We're lucky to have found her! - Vienna M. I have been taking lessons from Lauren for three years now. I have to say, at first I felt very intimidated by the instrument; being 25 years old at the time believing only children can pick up the instrument and succeed. However, Lauren made the learning process very easy and comfortable. She definitely broke the misconception that adults cannot learn to play well. I hope to continue taking lessons from Lauren for many more years to come and learn as much as I can about the violin. - Jason M. At the age of 54 I decided to purchase a violin and learn to play. I found Lauren Cauley and could not be more pleased with her!! She has taught me so much in my first four weeks. She's patient with me and encourages me when I get discouraged with my playing. She is quick to answer the numerous questions I have. She is an extremely talented musician with a talent for teaching. She pushes me in my weekly assignments and ensures I've mastered one level before we move to the next. Thanks, Lauren! - Mary N.
