Brand voice “do/don’t” examples
I live at the intersection of tech, policy, and storytelling. I’ve led narrative strategy at Amazon, Meta, and IBM and consulted for Microsoft, Boston Consulting Group, Axios, and multiple startups. My work spans executive communications, thought leadership, and crisis response—helping C-suite leaders and teams show up clearly and credibly in their highest-visibility, highest-risk moments.
My bylines include The New York Times, Rolling Stone, NPR, and VICE, Departures, the Revealer and my specialty is aligning the message with the moment so it actually lands.
What I Do
-I work with individuals, companies, nonprofits, foundations, and institutions to shape how they show up—on the record, in the room, and in the world with ghostwriting, writing, editorial work, and what shows up in the external relations world.
-Resume writing, editing, coaching: I am also a skilled and seasoned resume writer and editor who optimizes for the best results for your career. I’ve supported executives, managers, and specialists at Fortune 500 companies and top global brands by rewriting their resumes to highlight measurable impact, match modern ATS and AI requirements, and speak the language of hiring managers. My background in high-stakes corporate communications means I know how to position you the way major companies position their products: clearly, credibly, and in a way that stands out in a crowded field.
Core services:
-Executive Comms, Editing & Ghostwriting
Speeches, op-eds, keynotes, decks, longform essays, and talking points that translate your ideas into sharp, resonant narratives that still sound like you—just at your absolute best.
-Thought Leadership & Content Strategy
Cohesive editorial and content ecosystems across channels (earned, owned, internal) designed to inform, influence, and endure—not just create noise.
-Public Affairs & Crisis Communications
Messaging for high-stakes moments: product issues, policy scrutiny, AI and safety concerns, layoffs, and reputation risk. I help you respond quickly without sounding reactive, defensive, or opaque.
Why I’m Different
-I’m a strategic communications executive and writer who translates complex technology and policy into plain-language narratives that move executives, press, and customers. I’ve led executive comms, crisis response, and go-to-market messaging across Big Tech and startups, with a focus on AI, GenAI, privacy, safety, and digital transformation.
-At Meta, I was part of the elite six-person Writer’s Group, a small team trusted with the company’s highest-leverage narratives across tech, executive, crisis, and internal/external comms. I partnered closely with the C-suite and leaders across every org to:
- I turn complexity into clarity- Worked with engineering and policy teams to translate dense AI, encryption, and safety systems into stories humans can actually follow—especially on topics like youth wellbeing, election integrity, harmful content, and data security.
-I own technical & regulatory narratives- Wrote technical explainers on WhatsApp’s end-to-end encryption, election security infrastructure, and antitrust/privacy issues; edited in-depth reports and whitepapers on AI, safety protocols, and content moderation.
-I support major launches & keynotes- Crafted product explainers, launch messaging, and a 2023 technical keynote for Instagram focused on Youth & Teen Wellbeing—making the engineering legible and emotionally resonant for non-technical audiences, especially parents.
-I build standards and raise the bar - Wrote the company-wide style guide and led trainings for the global comms org on Smart Brevity, AP style, and how to “translate” expert language without dumbing it down.
-Before (and alongside) Big Tech, I worked across media and journalism—Daily Beast, Newsweek/IBT, Daily Mail (Elite Daily), Time, Rolling Stone, NPR, and more—so I understand both sides of the conversation: how stories are made and how they’re covered.
-Across everything I do, the throughline is the same: I help leaders and organizations say the hard, complex, technical things in a way that feels human, grounded, and impossible to ignore.

A Game-Changing Writer Who Made My Dreams Come True! Would go back to her over and over again for ghostwriting.
I still can't believe I'm saying this, but thanks to Janaki, my piece was published in a national newspaper - something I never thought possible!
From the moment we started working together, Janaki's talent was evident. As a ghostwriter, she didn't just capture my ideas - she elevated them into something truly publication-worthy. She took my rough thoughts and scattered notes and transformed them into a polished, compelling piece that perfectly reflected my voice and perspective. The article felt authentically mine, yet was crafted with a level of sophistication and narrative power I couldn't have achieved on my own.
But beyond her exceptional writing skills, Janaki is an absolute dream to work with. She's patient, collaborative, and genuinely invested in your success. She asked thoughtful questions, listened carefully to what I wanted to convey, and worked tirelessly through multiple drafts until everything was perfect. Her professionalism and dedication are unmatched.
The fact that her work got me placed in a national publication speaks volumes about her caliber as a writer. She understands what editors want, knows how to craft pieces that resonate with readers, and delivers work that stands up to the highest editorial standards.
If you're looking for a writer and editor who will not only meet but exceed your expectations - and potentially change your career trajectory in the process - Janaki is absolutely the person you need. I'm forever grateful for her expertise and can't recommend her highly enough!

Janaki is an exceptionally savvy and strategic résumé writer—the kind who doesn’t just polish words but completely re-engineers how a career story reads. She approaches every résumé like a narrative architecture project: identifying the through-line, sharpening the signal, and translating years of experience into clear, measurable impact that resonates with both ATS systems and human reviewers. Her editorial precision and background in executive communications at Amazon, Meta, and IBM give her an instinct for what actually lands with decision-makers.
Jan’s résumés don’t sound robotic or keyword-stuffed—they sound intelligent, confident, and modern. She knows how to balance data with story, structure with personality. Whether she’s rebuilding a senior leader’s CV or optimizing a mid-career professional’s résumé for AI detection and recruiter scans, her work consistently results in interviews and offers. She’s not just an editor—she’s a career strategist who understands messaging, positioning, and persuasion at the highest level. In short, if your résumé touches Jan’s desk, it comes back sounding like the best version of you: credible, compelling, and impossible to ignore.
