FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I love to work with each student to make a unique course plan according to their goals and interest. Every student is different, and so is every lesson! That being said, I do have an successful methodology when it comes to teach classical guitar.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Eastman School of Music, where I currently am studying toward my PhD in musicology. I also hold a Master of Music from the Manhattan School of Music and a Bachelor of Music from SUNY Fredonia. At all three institutions, I served as a private lesson instructor to non-majors. I have also taught courses on guitar pedagogy, classroom guitar, and music history.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I first started teaching lessons during my undergraduate degree and I absolutely loved it! I taught a few non-majors and a couple students who were preparing to audition for the guitar department (they were successful!). I've been doing it ever since.
