Introduction

I like to create a setting where my students feel comfortable. I take the time to explore your goals and any hurdles you may have had in the past. It's also important for me to know your learning style and comfort level. Some students like to be immersed in the language and others learn best though the written language. Checking in with you with respect to style and pacing is very important. Together we develop a "workflow" that is unique to you. My life experience is also unique as French is my native language. I am originally from Montreal and learned English in Elementary School when my family moved to the states.I am truly bi-lingual and fluent in both languages. I understand first hand what it's like to learn a second language can give you the experience of learning with a native speaker. I have a Master's Degree in French Literature and certified to teach in NYS French/Spanish(K-12). I taught for 20 years in t New State Public Schools and overseas with the Department of Defense Dependent Schools in England and Japan. I embrace all cultures and diversity and still very passionate about helping you and making this a rewarding experience. Thank you for considering my services.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm flexible with my pricing and open to lowering the price if signing up for packages. My rate is $45 based on 25 years teaching/tutoring experience. I can offer a $10 discount if committing to (2) months
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to get to know you and your learning style. Equally important is what your goals are and if you have a time limit. Speaking is very important. You have more changes of remembering if you can speak it. I am very creative in coming up with authentic situations where you have to use the language in a real setting. If your learning style presents differently and you are more comfortable with the written language first-we use that approach
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taught French/Spanish/ESL in New York State for the past 20 years(k-12) I have also taught French/Spanish on US Military Bases in England and Japan I have tutored ESL while teaching in NYS and overseas. I learned in English when I was 10 and love to help people in that situation. I am also a native French-Canadian speaker from Montreal
