My name is John Herbert, and I have lived and worked in the Central New York and Pennsylvania all my life. My brother, Greg, and I work together to run our company. We do all phases of contracting, from residential to commercial with emphasis on repair and restoration. We can do carpentry, masonry, painting, remodeling, heating, air-conditioning, electrical, and communications. We do tree removal and landscape pruning. John and Greg arrived as planned and performed both roof vent installations quickly and professionally. They were personable, reasonably priced, and willing to stand behind the craftsmanship of their work (unlike other contractors I spoke with).

Repair work done from previous contractors, install new baseboards; paint; Jon and Greg were urgent to my needs. They quickly came to my house and had an estimate within that same day. They were great about communicating each step of the project. While Greg was preparing the room to paint, he noticed that I had an issued with a heating duct and was very determined to fix it. I'm grateful for J & G contractors for rescuing me from the disaster from other contractors.

I had a big job that needed to be done quickly. It was making an 20 x 15 empty room into a bedroom. All there was was insulation in there. They completely transformed the empty room into a beautiful bedroom, 23 sheets of sheetrock, mudded, windows, doors, painting, and all the trim in less than a week and there was no mess left afterwards. I even had a little repair that I needed done on my roof that I told them about and to my surprise that was also done. I am making a time with them now to do my bathroom. Very reasonable, professional, friendly and fast.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No standard pricing because we do so many different trades and with so many different applications, it is difficult to price generically. We are hard workers who are trying to just make a living with what we know how to do.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
To be friendly and listen to their needs and requests
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Me and my partner (who is also my Brother, Greg), have a combined 40 years experience in residential and commercial work. My (John) background includes electrical and any low voltage applications (voice, data, and fiber optics). Greg has mastered the trade of HVAC with 15 years experience in that field and we have 10 years experience in all aspects of residential/commercial repair and restoration.
