Introduction

What I love about doing private chef jobs is that it allow me to more creative and I get to learn something new from each new client. We will create the menu together step by step. Discussing what works and what doesn't work. I like to always keep my clients involved with every part in the menu making. I always encourage my clients to step out the box and try different foods, combinations and to live a little. Each of my clients will receive personal dishes inspired by their ideas. That I will bring those ideas to life by cooking a meal they will never forget. I have over 15yrs of experience in high end restaurants and hotels in New York City. I am currently one of The Banquet Chef at The Plaza Hotel in NYC. At the present time the fulfillment of the food industry is still the same feeling as it did from day one. The simplicity, the reactions of smiles, as well as compliments and gratitude are just the few examples. I receive joy watching people eating my dishes that I've made for them.

I hired Mike to provide a private cooking lesson for my parents. He was an absolute pleasure to work with from the start, both very responsive during the planning process, and very accommodating with food preferences, allergies, etc. After the lesson my parents raved about their lesson and felt like they were spending an extra special day cooking with an old friend. Mike provided them a very memorable experience and his service comes very highly recommended!

I hired Mike as a surprise birthday gift for my husband. Mike taught 7 of our closest friends how to cook a 7 course meal from start to finish. He was easy going, fun and really made the afternoon/evening memorable (in fact, we are all still talking about it!) From the start, Mike created a menu that was diverse but yet easy enough that we all could attempt on our own. With a big group like I had, it could be hard to judge peoples engagement levels and Mike did this perfectly- allowing us to learn but yet also enjoy ones company and celebrate! Our friends all have different palates but there was plenty of options for everyone and everything was delicious (the quality of the food was excellent as well as cooked to perfection) We had leftovers for days!! I really can't say enough about Chef Mike- the entire experience exceed my expectations and I cant wait to re-book him for another everlasting memory!!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I like to sit down first and discuss what type of event my client is trying to provide for their guest experience. Then we talk about how elaborate, complex and exquisite they would like their party. That will determine the type ingredients and produce we will need for the cost of the party.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we will discuss what is the main theme or what type cuisine they would like learn. From their we will talk about their likes a dislikes. Them we can create a personal menu for the event. We can get as creative and elaborate as we like to make it a special memory.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Graduated from The Culinary Institute of America in 2003
