FAQs
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Well, when I was a child, my parents insisted on my sister and I learning respect for alcohol. We traveled to foreign countries and tasted their wines and through learning respect for the alcohol, I also learned respect for the culture that created the wine. And so a love for wine was born. When I got out of college, it was only natural for me to pursue my lifelong love of wine.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most commonly I do palate tastings to help people identify what their palates most respond to.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
The only advice I can really give is to know what you're getting into. Wine, for the most part, is not an inexpensive endeavor. Something I wish I knew before getting into the business myself, actually. That doesn't mean you can't get good wine for less: some of the best wine I've had is completely affordable. But for the most part, embarking on this quest to study wine can be expensive. If you have the time and money, though, the rewards are spectacular.
