Without question, one of the best hires I've found on Thumbtack. Toni is fair and reasonable with his prices and works his butt off while he's on the job. He's working on some very large and extensive projects with an updated master bath, new kitchen and new laundry plumbing. He's been fantastic to work with and I've found my plumber for life. Thanks Toni!

We were having a problem with (hot) water pressure and I "assumed" it had something to do with the 25+ year old water heater we had. It was still heating water sufficiently but the pressure was dwindling. Initially I contacted plumbers near me, but after feeling as though I was "inconveniencing" them with my "minor" problem (they said my 3 year old shower faucet was to blame) I turned to Thumbtack. Bryan Ody with The Plumbing Tree was not only quick to respond, but was persistent with offering to help! Bryan again not only came out right away, but alerted us to other problems we had! He gave us a very reasonable quote to remedy all the issues AND was back within a day to fix them all!! I can not speak higher of a company than The Plumbing Tree!! Thank you again!!! 😊

My experience with Remarkable Plumbing was fantastic. I had a drain pipe that needed replaced. I had two other plumbers out to look at it, and was told by both that my access panel wasn't large enough to completely the job (the house is on a slab). Kevin was able to find a work around (add to that, he's a magician with a sawzall) that didn't require more of the slab to be dug up that saved me quite a few hundred dollars. 6 months later, I still haven't had any problems with the fix. I've referred Remarkable to others and will continue to do so.

The Village Plumber did a fantastic job installing a new water heater. They were very responsive to my questions and considerate with scheduling. The value was unbeatable and I feel that the pricing was very fair, finally someone who is not trying to take advantage of the customer and understands the struggle of every-day homeowners! They worked very quickly. Only took about an hour to drain, install, and remove my old tank. They were very clean, laid down protective coverings over my floor and cleaned up their mess after the job was finished! Most of all I appreciate them working with my home warranty company (as many other plumbers decided it was too much of a hassle for them to make a phone call). I am very satisfied and would highly recommend them for any plumbing job you have! You won’t regret it!

Fixed plumbing issues in master bath. Bob did a great job, and prices were very reasonable. He also provided some helpful tips on some other minor issues we are having. Definitely will be our go to guy for repairs from now on.

Luke was outstanding; here exactly when he said he would be, found the issue, checked for any other potential problems, fixed the one we had and charged a very fair price. Would not hesitate to call him if/when we need a plumber.

Ted showed up on time to help me with my stinky well water issue. The first solution didn't work. He suggested another solution (which I checked up on with other plumbers) and his solution was the least expensive. He replaced my water heater and whole house filter and added a second filter per my request. He didn't try to push any unneccesary work and he did the job quickly. My house now has water that smells like water :-)

Unfortunately, I needed a plumber for water shut-off valve that suddenly decided it wanted to break under my utility sink. Water was spewing from the plastic knob itself-cheap builders grade knob. I called Mark as soon as I noticed the leak at 7:30 a.m. Within an hour, my leak was repaired with new knobs-not the el-cheapo plastic stuff either. I was still able to make it to work by 10:30 a.m. Another great experience with Mark and his son! I hate when I have emergency plumbing needs, but when I do, Active Rooter always handles my needs professionally, accurately, and swiftly. They even notice the little things like using shoe covers when walking on my marble floors-nice job guys!

Plumber arrived on time, was very professional, punctual and honest. He told me exactly what the drain unclogging process would entail, and did not try to up-sell me on additional services at all. While the company may not be the cheapest around for this type of project, their price was still fair, and still much less than what Roto-Rooter or The Plumbing Source would charge. He got the job done quickly, and solved the problem without running into any issues or damaging any pipes at all. Would definitely hire again for future plumbing projects.

This is the plumber I call first. He really knows his trade, and is always friendly and prompt. A real plus is that he will come out anytime in an emergency. He's been my plumber for several years and I trust his work completely.

Dave was terrific! He was very honest and had the heart of a teacher when trying to diagnose our problem related to leaking around the shower. He counseled us about the various options and was very fair and reasonable. He definitely stood out from all the prior plumbers I've worked with. We will definitely call him back!

When the top expert is required, only Tony is on my speed dial... Only problem, is he is in high demand. So you have to schedule the work -this can be frustrating- but well worth the wait to have the best tech, installer, plumber, concrete, roofing, building... About

New to the Buckeye state. I am from a large plumbing family back home. I have been doing this for a long time. My wife is from Ohio and I wanted our kids to grow up outside of a major metropolis. I have 3 kids 2 rescue dogs and a crazy cat. I was instilled with integrity by my parents and l value that trait. I'm not out here to mislead or deceive anyone. Word of mouth is the best exposure. I want to be your go to guy when an issue arises. I am a firm believer in karma. I have a very outgoing personality and am extremely easy to talk to and work with.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

What are plumbers and what do they do?

Plumbers are skilled professionals who are trained to install and maintain pipes and systems for drinking water, sewage and drainage. They usually have trained through four- to five-year training programs, which include apprenticeships, via trade schools and community colleges. Plumbers’ areas of expertise typically go beyond pipes to include mathematics, blueprint reading, plumbing codes and water distribution. They handle plumbing emergencies, such as broken pipes or clogged drains, and install and maintain everything from a new piping system to a replacement faucet. Plumbers also know how to install bathtubs and showers, toilets, water heaters and dishwashers. Plumbers may work on residential or commercial sites, sometimes designing and laying out a pipe system during construction.

How do you find a good plumber?

Whether you need a plumber to perform drain repair, install a new fixture, or replace rusty pipes, you need to make sure you hire someone reliable who will finish your job on time and within budget. Start by asking the plumbers on your short list these questions:

      • What is the total cost? Make sure your estimate includes materials and labor. Find out whether the plumber will be providing the materials and whether you’re being charged an hourly rate (which is variable) or a flat fee.
      • Is removal and cleanup included in the job? Some plumbers leave behind old parts, while others include the cleanup in the cost.
      • Is the work guaranteed? Find out whether the work (as well as the parts or fixtures) are guaranteed under a warranty.
