FAQs

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

Our licensing and certification require at least 50 hours per year in continuing education. In addition, ongoing technical updates, seminars, and meetings that are not required at least double that amount.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

As with many professions, there is no substitute for experience. Ask your provider how many years of home inspection and building trade experience they have. Ohio does not require licensing for home inspectors, so membership in a recognized professional association such as ASHI or NAHI is recommended as it is an additional level of accrediation. Beware of "certified" inspectors that cannot back up their credentials from recognized organizations (see below). Inspectors in Kentucky and Indiana must be licensed.
