- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ASHI Membership requires a committment to excellence in providing quality service and value to current and future homeowners. The Ohio Chapter of ASHI is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1989. We are a regional chapter of the American Society of Home Inspectors, North America's largest, oldest and most recognized organization for home inspectors. Chapter members work collectively to establish high professional standards and provide continuing education, outreach and contact information to one another and those interested in the inspection profession.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been in the construction field for over 35 years. I have done all phases of home construction from roofing to basement remodeling and everything in between. - Chris Green Going from construction to home inspectons is a natural transition for the top notch contractors. My qualifications include: Excellent knowledge in electric and plumbing. Complete several construction courses in the military. Completed Home Inspector course at Penn-Foster with above 90% avg. Associate member to ASHI. National and state level Quality Home Inspections, Plumbing, Electric, Roofing and Framing.
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Roof Inspection - Are your shingles in good condition? Is the roof peak sagging? Inspector Chris inspects the Roof shingles, Roof Flashings, Chimneys, Trim & Gutters, Skylights, Vents, and Downspouts. Basement Inspection - It all starts with the Foundation. Real Estate Home Inspector Chris will physically inspect the Basement, Crawl Spaces, and Foundations to ensure proper Insulation, Ventilation, Posts, and Utility attachments are in place. We carefully inspect the floors, walls, and columns and structural items. Heating and Cooling Systems Inspection - How long will that furnace last? If I don't smell fumes - is the furnace OK? Home Inspector Chris inspects the Heating and Cooling System Furnace, AIr Conditioning, Duct Work, inspects for potential Carbon Monoxide, Air Conditioner and Lines, all visible HVAC components. Electrical Systems Inspection - Is the electrical system safe? Inspector Chris tests the Electrical Systems including the Service Panel, the Switches and Outlets, Junction Boxes and Visible Wiring, Grounding System, plus Service Entry and proper Clearances. Fixtures and Plumbing Inspection - Are the plumbing components in good order? Home Inspector Chris inspects all Sinks, Faucets, Baths and Showers, Toilets, Sanitary Systems. We look at the Water Pressure and Water Distribution System for potential problems. Attic Inspection - It's more than just insulation. Home Inspector Chris checks the attic ventilation, the rafters, all joists and collar ties and trusses, attic wiring attachments, and all other items visible. Home Interior Inspection - A careful look at the Interior by an expert. Real Estate Home Inspector Chris inspects the built in Appliances, Smoke Detectors, the Sinks, Cabinets, Shelving. We also inspect the Flooring and Ceiling, the Walls and Stairs. Home Exterior Inspecton - Siding and Windows do more than look good. Real Estate Inspector Chris inspects the Siding Materials, the Doors and Windows, Sashes and Lintels, House Vents, the Entry Ways, and other visibile Exterior Components.
