FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I have a set price per lesson per week but I can be flexible.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I typically try to use the first lesson as a way to gauge my student’s playing abilities if they’ve already had lessons. If they’re starting from the very beginning then I try to start with the very basics i.e. how to hold the instrument, the names of the strings etc. I usually try to make sure that I’m giving my students enough to work on so that they aren’t bored but at the same time I try not to overwhelm them with too much information.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Bachelors in Violin Performance and spent nearly half of that degree as an Education major. In that time, I got to learn a wide variety of pedagogical techniques for helping students learn and keep an interest in learning the violin. During my masters, I have volunteered to teach lessons over Zoom to children who wouldn’t otherwise be able to access them.
