FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I hold a 200 RYT certification from Yoga Alliance. I completed my training at Yandara Yoga Institute in Baja, Mexico in February 2014 and began teaching immediately. I have experience teaching public classes in a studio setting, private in-home sessions, and special event classes. I specialize in teaching Vinyasa and Yin styles of yoga and welcome practitioners of all levels and ages.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
In-home yoga lessons are a luxury service. It's important that your private yoga teacher is capable of constructing classes tailored to meeting your personal long-term goals, while allowing session-to-session flexibility. In my time as a teacher I have learned that teaching a public class in a studio is wildly different from working with a private client. While a teacher may be very gifted at choreographing an all-levels class for a studio, a really good private teacher is able to throw away the plan after checking in with her student at the beginning of class and instead design a practice that meets the student's physical and emotional needs on that day but also stays true to the student's long-term goals. I recommend confirming that your potential teacher has experience teaching private sessions and that he or she puts an emphasis on listening to you.
