Introduction
Hi! My name is Ella Bondar and I am a freelance cellist in the Cleveland and surrounding areas. I have been playing cello for 12 years and am excited to grow my career! I live in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood and am currently finishing the last year of my undergraduate Cello Performance degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music. I love playing all genres of music but have specific experience in classical/baroque/romantic chamber music and orchestral works, wedding and special event music, as well as other genres such as modern, improvisation and jazz. I would be happy to learn any other genre for any occasion!

Ella has been an incredibly reliable cellist to turn to. She has subbed for me in orchestras, and done so with enthusiasm and thorough preparation. A definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a cellist.

Ella was perfect for our ceremony and cocktail hour. She was prompt and responded quickly to all of our questions. Her input about the music was helpful but most of all, she filled the air with gorgeous sounds. The tone of her cello and her expression through music exceeded our expectations. It was absolutely lovely.

Just from our short session it was fabulous and kind of all over the place but she was patient and understanding. It allowed me to relax more and get into the lesson more. Awesome firsthand experience! Would certainly recommend her to any beginner! And most of all very knowledgeable for the cherry on top!

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

First, we will have a conversation over call/Zoom/FaceTime and discuss exactly what services they would like, what music to be played, my rates, etc. After that, I will remain in contact until the event, giving progress on the music, and double checking the logistics of the event.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

When I started cello at age 10, I also start private instruction. From there I participated in extracurricular musical clubs(orchestra, chamber music, etc.), and then when it was time for high school, I choose to attend Interlochen Arts Academy; a private arts boarding school in North Michigan. From there, I looked for colleges to attend and utilisateur decided on a conservatory(a school that only offert musical degrees), Cleveland Institute of Music. I am not entering into my last year of my undergraduate degree in Cello Performance.

  • What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with everyone! Young, old. People who have never played or listened to classical music and those who have doctorate degrees. I am just excited about sharing music!
