My elderly mother got a quote for driveway repair work at the end of May 2014 for a cost of $1450. She paid John Holop a deposit of $700. Within 3 days she needed to cancel the work in order to pay a higher than expected attorney bill for the settling of my brother's estate (he passed away in November 2013). My mom called John and explained the situation and he verbally agreed to refund her deposit. A week went by and she had not received her refund so she called John again. He said he had "forgotten" to send the refund. I called John in the middle of June 2014 and he hung up the phone on me.
My mom has yet to receive her refund, the driveway repair work remains uncompleted, and John Holop will not answer or return our calls. My mom never signed a contract with John. Buyer beware with this contractor. Do NOT do business with this man. I am currently pursuing a Small Claims Court action against him for my mom. He basically stole $700 from a 76 year old widow. I wonder how many other elderly people he has ripped off.
I'm only giving 1 Star because I am forced to rate him. He would actually rate 0 Stars.

the previous review is false the money for the deposit was spent on permits and materials the next day!you cant expect me to eat that cost that was explained and i did have a signed contract
