FAQs
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My original certification in 2013 was a 200RYT. In 2024 I became a 500 E-Ryt. That means my training consisted of 500 hours, the E-RYT is experienced registered yoga teacher through Yoga Alliance. I’ve taken many more courses since and gotten certified in CorePower yoga, Yin yoga, Yoga for pain and Yoga for trauma and resilience, also a certification in Prison yoga, which is also for trauma. This is to name just a few of the extra courses I’ve taken. I can provide certificates if asked.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
When I started yoga I wanted to find a way to work out in a way I loved and lose fat. I had just had my 3rd child and was feeling like my weight gain would never drop off. What I received from yoga class was so much more than that and I fell in love with it and had to learn everything I could about it. I read books, I sought out all kinds of yoga classes and eventually decided I needed to become a teacher. For the first time I could remember when I did yoga I felt peace, and a deep knowing I was becoming my true self again. Now I know it was because my nervous system was becoming regulated.
- Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I’ve been and continue to study all of the science that supports yoga for nervous system health. With my own traumatic experiences I already knew yoga works for this but now I’m starting to understand how it works. The more I learn the more confident and excited I am to share the results with others.
