At approx. nine years of age I told my Dad "I want that new bike in store window." Dad said we will discuss it when we get home.. At home he pointed out a gas can and lawnmower sitting in yard.. There is your new bike .. I not only got the bike but found out neighbors needed their yards cut and I had spending money when I got done..
