I needed help with a Mid-Month move from Dayton to Tampa in July '18. I read numerous horror stories on fly by night moving companies not showing up, holding furniture for ransom. movers showing up smelling or pot or alcohol, you name it I read about it. I also received quotes from other Movers in town that were 3 or 4 times more than the estimate I received from HELP. To further complicate the move, we were consolidating 2 houses into one. Gary the owner, came to both houses and we discussed Timelines, type of truck to be used( for a move like this Gary rented a larger truck from Penske), as well as overall costs for the move.
The cost was much less than I was expecting and after reading the horror stories and bad reviews from other movers, I was expecting a surprise on quality or price at the end.
Gary knows this business and knows what it takes to get the job done right. Despite issues with a Truck from Penske that put us behind by 18 hours, Gary showed up with a backup truck and got House # 1 packed on time with no issues. His team was professional, took care of delicate pieces, and made sure the load was packed securely. The next day, we tackled House # 2. All goods from House # 2 got loaded on the Penske Truck, and the two trucks were backed up end to end and all household goods were transferred from one truck to another.
Gary personally supervised and managed the entire load out of the FL Bound Truck. Everything was securely packed and only one casualty was a nick in the rear corner of a large armoire which he adjusted on our invoice. Everything else arrived as packed, nothing broken, glassware, delicate items and paintings undamaged. We set delivery for Friday morning at 6:00 AM. His Team was waiting in my driveway and appreciated coffee and donuts. Unloading took about 4 hours, beds were set up, washer and dryer hooked up, and way too many boxes filled up the garage. My fault for bringing too much stuff.
Team was totally professional and courteous at all times despite completing an 18 hour drive and sleeping for a few hours in their truck overnight. The surprise came at the end. The Final Invoice was exactly what I was quoted. Gary and his team came through on every portion of this move, every promise made was delivered on, and I could not ask for better service on this move. Gary I can only give 5 Stars you deserve 10 Stars.
For those contemplating a Long Distance Move, pick a time during the middle of the month. A mover's busiest time is at the beginning or end of the month. Avoid Broker's who hand your belongings off to someone else who is the least cost mover, and any promises made don't count for anything. My household goods stayed on Gary's Truck and his Team handled things from end to end. And if things weren't right they knew they would answer to Gary. I read all of Gary's Reviews from beginning to end, even the few bad ones and I was impressed. Gary takes ownership and the Buck Stops with him!!!
