On April 5, 2017, I reached out on Thumbtack to find a landscaper for our property. We had moved into a new home in January, and just had the standard “builder” type landscaping which we did not like. Within minutes of posting I was contacted by City Pro Services Ltd and we soon began chatting back and forth. City Pro Services is a family-owned business, with the entire family taking part in getting the job done. Andy and Julie set up a time to come and look at our property to see what we had, listened to what we saw as our vision, and made numerous recommendations as to what could work for us. As we worked out a plan they came and met with us a second time to offer more suggestions, and explained how everything would be done. Andy made sure that the plants we wanted would be appropriate for the areas we were going to landscape (sun vs. shade plants). By mid-May we finally settled on a workable plan along with pricing. These are some of the things they did for us: 1) Installation of new shrubs and perennials in front bed. 2) Installation of topsoil, river rocks, and mulch in front bed areas with 25-year weed barrier fabric. 3) New beds by the mailbox area and on other side of driveway, with topsoil, and river rocks splashing in some small perennials to accent. 4) Created a flower bed down the side of the house with hydrangeas, topsoil, and mulch. 5) Planted 4 trees. 6) Created a flower bed in back yard corner with some perennials. 7) Transplant existing plants from the front yard bed to the shed area. 8) Installed topsoil around shed for plants. 9) Installed mulch around shed areas. 10) Installed annuals in all beds on the entire property. 11) Installed river rock and ornamental grass around the outside air-conditioning unit. 12) Installed river rock drainage for the downspouts instead of concrete drains. 13) Installed small river rock for path going from back patio to shed entrance – included river rock and 25 year week barrier fabric. 14) Prepped lot for sod by tilling, cutting, and grading, as well as installing 28 yards of top soil. 15) We purchased sod for side yard areas, and they provided labor for installation. Also 25lbs of starter fertilizer for pre-sodding. It did take them a while to get us on the schedule, but that was only due to the weather and the fact that they had multiple other jobs going on. Once they started the job they often came in full-force with everyone in the family working hard to get the job done. I will tell you that with the bad soil that we have (very hard clay), they often had to work extra hard to accomplished with would have otherwise been fairly simple. Digging the holes for the 4 trees they planted was not an easy task! Because of our bad soil, Andy did everything he could to set us up for success with everything he planted. He created raised beds with prime topsoil, and used weed barrier fabric to help keep the weeds down. When we purchased our new home, we purchased the empty lot next to us which had not been developed. We had them prep and lay the sod on that lot. Again, with the soil being so bad, and full of rocks, Andy recommended that they prep the lot and cover it with quality top soil prior to laying the sod. It was a lot of hard work for them, but, again, they wanted to make sure that we were set up for success. It was a very large area, but they did a great job and it made everything look amazing. Our main requests upon first discussion, was telling them that we loved color and wanted low maintenance. Not only did City Pro Services “meet” our desires, but they “far exceeded” our expectations. Andy was responsive to our every need, was willing to make changes or additions without question, and made sure to educate us along the way as to what needed to be done to make sure that we are able to easily maintain everything they had done. One thing that I really appreciated about Andy, was that he would personally pick out the very best plants that he could. This was especially evident with the hydrangeas that he selected for the side of the house. They are “show stoppers” to be sure! Would I hire them again? You bet I would!! I’m sure that I will be calling them throughout the coming years to just do some maintenance and cleanup of whatever needs to be done for the next season. They are a hard-working family business, who aim to please, and are willing to work hard to get the job done. D. Scott
I hired AJ to install a chandelier in my dining room. He arrived on time, got straight to work, and when it was clear that the chandelier was missing a key part, he drove to Home Depot to get it for me. I highly recommend him. The chandelier looks gorgeous and it was all done for a very reasonable price.
Removed tree branches, landscape timbers, railroad ties, and misc trash. Justin was very nice and did a great job. He did not mess around and was fast at getting the job done.
Put up a fence, railings on a deck, bricked landscaping. Hardworking, eager to please, good value. Could have cleaned a little better, but it was dark when they finished working.
We are pleased with the results of re-coloring and resealing the patterned concrete on our front walk and steps and on our patio. Chris Sperry, and his family, were genuinely concerned with whether we, and they, were satisfied with the finished product. Reflections is not a company that comes in, does the job, takes the check and leaves. They care and are willing to do whatever it takes to make sure the customer has gotten what they wanted.
Kingdom Exteriors did an excellent job replacing our roof this spring at a very competitive price. Also replaced a couple of aged wooden soffits and painted them so it blended in with the rest of the roof line. We are picky but only found ourselves pleased with the project results.
Installed pre-assembled kitchen cabinets. Was very friendly, timely, and resourceful. Brought up any issues with the cabinets and/or house and provided solutions to resolve the problems. Took the extra time to make sure things were done right when running into issues. (Note: sides are unfinished because I haven't decided what to do) Would definitely use again!
By Design came in and removed all the old wood siding that was in poor condition and replaced it with all new cedar siding. They also custom made the outside wood trim to my rear door and window on my early 1900'S home in the historic district. Very please with the work.
Excellent work, the custom trim was beautiful and the paint job turned out better than expected. Benjamin made the whole process easier , I definitely would recommend.
Larry and Abby did a great job for us! They patched drywall damage, hung FRP, installed new baseboard, and tiled our mudroom/laundry/office area. They got the job done promptly and professionally and everything looks BEAUTIFUL! Wouldn't hesitate to hire them again for another job in the future.
I hired Jay to build a pretty large deck with cable railings and other unique features that required a lot of precision, creativity and flexibility. Jay came through from start to finish. He was easy to work with, open to my ideas and responsive to our suggestions and even comments for changes. I'd recommend him without hesitation. Thank you Jay.
Installed our baseboards in two hours flat!
I would use Taulbee again. They came when they said they would and were very kind and professional. They were prompt. They even installed a bathroom light for me so I didn't have to hire another professional. The only thing I would ask is that they use more drop cloths to prevent spots on the floor. Good price and good service.
We hired Jerry to completely a remote home remodel for us. We were in Chicago while Jerry was remodeling our home in Cincinnati- not an easy task, but he did an excellent job. His quote was more reasonable than others', and we also liked the fact that he only takes one job at a time (finishes start to end before taking on a new one.) He retiled our bathrooms, installed new vanities, new tub, and new fixtures, replaced granite countertops with quartz, painted, installed a new backsplash, added railings to our staircase, installed new light fixtures.. just to name a few. We highly recommend him and would hire him for more jobs in a heartbeat.
My wife and I recently purchased a new patio home in Centerville and needed some much needed electrical work. We have built/remodeled several homes and have employed other electricians to do work for us but thus far none were as prompt, knowledgeable and spot on with their pricing and even though the work he did for us was a little more complicated and took more time than he originally estimated he honored his pricing. More importantly he found an electrical problem that could have caused a fire and rectified the problem...Thank you Dan!
We had to wait awhile for our patio but no longer than they warned us. Actually ended up getting here a week early. They got right to it. They built us a stamped colored concrete patio that was stamped and cut out to look like field stone. They put a border on it that was stained another color. It is absolutely beautiful! The guys were so nice and cooperative when I changed my mind a couple of times. They fixed the yard with topsoil and seed and all looks wonderful. Will hire them again. In fact already have another project for next year!
Chuck and crew did a fantastic job on my 30+ year old deck. They power washed (and snuck in washing the deck furniture) before staining. This project will give me several additional years with the current deck -- I appreciate it's prolonged life. Deck came out as I was told it would, great value for the work. The crew was on time and very professional. I was called daily for a progress report. I would definitely use CPR again for any future projects. Great team!!
Custom wood working (crown molding, baseboards, ect.) The work was done extremely fast, and the quality of the wood and stain are beautiful. Sean's attention to detail is unbelievable, he noticed and corrected things that I would have never seen in a million years. Very good work!
