Lisa has been a pet sitter & dog walker for my Weimaraner for going on two years and when she comes to the door my dog couldn’t be any more excited to see her and go on it’s walk. Very prompt and professional with a great personality, I highly recommend her if your interested in having someone walk and or sit your furry family member.

Best pet sitter in the Dayton area. Very reliable and trustworthy. It is always a comfort to know your pets are being taken care of when you are away from home. Mary Beth Wyss treats my pets as if they were her own. I highly recommend her services!

We have been using Annette for several years and are VERY happy with the outstanding service, care and commitment she provides to our Jack our Jack Russell terrier. We know that when we are away that he is in experienced capable hands and that if anything should happen he will be taken care of. I don't think that we could find another person or service that would treat our dog like their own like Annette does.

As a ...ahem...somewhat overprotective pet mom, I am very particular about entrusting my pets to anyone. Danielle has cared for my five cats several times, and I could not be happier with her or with the care she gives. Each time I return home, they are happy and content. The food and water bowls are clean and full and the litterboxes are empty. She keeps me updated with daily texts, so I never have to worry. Initially, I would not have thought it was necessary to visit twice a day for cats, but I have to say, I'm really glad she does and it's well worth it. She is such a pleasure to deal with, and has such a nice, gentle way with the animals. I highly recommend her!

I will come to your house and walk, play, feed and water your animals. I have always loved animals if I see a homeless animal. I will try to feed it and get it to find it a home. I'm an animal lover. You would have to meet me, and you will see yourself.

I understand animals and people, therefor I am able to bridge gaps upon understanding behavior. I also offer overnight stays for pet sitting and home sitting.

I do not "officially" have a full-time pet sitting business. However, I have taken care of other people's pets as I would my own. Since I had to put my dog to sleep a year and a half ago, I have not gotten another pet (yet). I always tell people that I treat their dog(s) the way I'd want mine to be treated -- with lots of TLC (Most people want to be my dog in their next life!).

I take care of animals at home and throughout my family. I specialize in dogs. I have dealt with many different ages of dogs, from 2 weeks to 14 years. I have a very flexible schedule.

I have a passion and a special connection with animals, so I would be happy to care for your pet in any way needed. I am also quite the house cleaner who can take care of these needs if necessary.

I help with animals. I dog walk, and I pet sit mostly. I also clean a little on the side. I can wash windows and clean a cluttered room if needed.

I offer reliable, trustworthy business for anyone who needs deep cleaning or organizing. I also offer house sitting, animal sitting and any sort of animal care.

I derive a lot of joy and happiness from pet sitting dogs and cats. I grew up among these beautiful creatures and developed a lot of respect and compassion for them. I will feed your pet(s) and clean up afterwards. I provide walking services for your dog(s) and like to create innovative ways to play with your pet(s). I will retrieve your mail and water your plants. I'm reliable and dependable. I charge $10 per half hour and $15 per half hour for five or more pets.

I am a lover of all animals. I feed, water, walk, and sit all animals except creepy animals. I am a pet owner myself with three cats and eight kittens.

I have one year paid experience in house visits. I love animals. I have taken care of cats all my like. I currently own two that I take care of every day.

      Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32. How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

      • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
      • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
        • 45-minute visit: $28.
        • 60-minute visit: $32.
      • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
      • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
        • 12 hours: $100.
        • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.
