- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?The only pricing system we have is a starting or base price of $159 for most services. This is based on $75 to come out to the job site and $75/hour with a one hour minimum. Most problems can be remedied within an hour. In order to provide a level of security and to ensure reasonable legitimacy, we will ask you to provide a credit card or PayPal payment at the time you schedule an evaluation or service call. This charge is non-refundable, but will be applied to any future costs incurred. This service call includes limited travel, evaluation, diagnosis and a detailed, written estimate upon request AND help locating parts if needed. We travel anywhere in Ohio but we also have a mileage charge of $.33/mile with the first 50 miles free. When you secure an appointment with your credit card, 100 miles of travel are included with the estimate that you receive if the work cannot be completed same day.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?It starts with your Thumbtack service request. We respond quickly with information about how to contact us directly and discuss the details of your situation. Right away, you will learn what options are available, have a good idea of the costs involved and have an opportunity to schedule an evaluation and receive a firm quote, or schedule the work to begin. We will schedule you at your convenience and come take care of the repair, many times in one day. In order to provide a level of security and to ensure reasonable legitimacy, we will ask you to provide a non-refundable credit card or PayPal payment at the time you schedule an evaluation or a service call. This amount is then applied to your final bill. This service call charge includes travel, evaluation, diagnosis and a detailed, written estimate AND help locating parts if you so desire. Major parts (over $7 in total) are purchased by the customer, from any retailer they choose, however, we are always glad to help you locate parts and supplies anytime and we can order parts for you at your request.
