Balloon Man Dan was positively fabulous! He arrived early to set up and hit the ground running. Children were in line the entire three hours of our community event and loved the balloon critter they selected from Dan's many choices. He joked with everyone, children and adults alike. Dan is such a terrific person and a real entertainer. Madison will have him back for many future events!

Donald photographed a corporate event/ceremony and took some great shots! I was not at the event, but Donald was able to take direction ahead of time and get all of the shots we were looking for. He was very easy to work with, and delivered the photos earlier than he said he would.

In summary, Jim provided very good work for our event. His music choice was excellent, however his professionalism could use some improvement. Jim had asked me to write a review for him on thumbtack. I will say he did stress for me to write him a "good" review. His request was understandable given the one rediculous review he got before. Regardless, I will provide below the most honest review I can offer of Jim's company based on his service at our event last night. Please note: the actual rating I would give Starfire Entertainment is 4 stars. I put down five to help balance the terrible review he got because I do not believe the company was deserving of such low of a score given my recent experiences with Jim's company. My name is Tim, I am a student at OSU who helped organized an end of the year dance party for our residence hall. Jim arrived at least one hour before the event (though he may have arrived even earlier but my exact recollection is unclear). His equipment set up was very timely and the lighting he provided was excellent (lights, black lights, disco ball, everything we wanted!). I will say that he he was still calibrating the volume of the speakers after the event already started; the volume was very low initially which may (in my opinion) have caused some attendees to leave. As soon as the volume was correctly adjusted (10 minutes into the event), the volume was excellent and remained so for the rest of the evening. During the dance, the music selection was consistently excellent. He was very good with playing requests. The sound effects he played to transition between songs were not like any of the transitions I have heard from past dj's (though they did not detract from the experience). My one major concern was that he took several extended breaks from his dj station. During one of his breaks, a song came up that was not a dancing song, so one of the organizers had to go to the station and manually change the song (otherwise people would have started to leave). Also, on about two occasions, he did not have a song prepared in the queue when the current song had finished playing so we had to wait for briefly for the next song (though the time waiting was filled with transition sounds). Overall, we all had a great time! He performance was very good, he set up was excellent, he was very kind. Despite the minor concerns I discussed above, I will give him a solid 4/5 because he did a very good job. He is not deserving of the one low review he had gotten. This is as honest of a review I can offer. Tim

I play at an advanced level in various styles though I prefer the timeless popular/jazz standards. I also do seasonal songs with a jazz touch and some of the more popular classical and contemporary songs. I have been playing a keyboard for finer restaurants, hotels, and/or special events since September of 2012.
