DJ James Hayes Entertainment
About this pro
Type of booth
James was great! He did a birthday party for an 11 year old girl and was very interactive with the kids - they loved him! The photo booth is a great addition and his assistant was very helpful as well. Will finitely use him again.Jul 7, 2018Verified
Phenomenal. Would highly recommend to anyone. Played EVERYTHING we asked for. Can't put in enough praise in this review.May 19, 2017Verified
All I can say was he set the bar very high for any DJ for entertainment purposes. He was super early and well prepared. He danced with the wedding party during the wedding reception and played excellent music during the entire wedding and reception. I highly recommend DJ James Hayes for anyone.Mar 19, 2017Verified
We hired DJ James last minute to run the Karaoke room at "A Night to Shine," which is a special needs prom for people 14+ started by the Tim Tebow foundation. He did a fantastic job with all the guest and had fun with it. We chose to provide him a list of songs for the guest to choose from, which he came prepared, however he does have any song you can imagine on hand. Great job and we will more than likely hire again for next year!Feb 20, 2017Verified
We were very happy with DJ James at our wedding. His dancing with light up shoes was a fun bonus. We appreciated all he handled and kept the day flowing well.Nov 7, 2016Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I charge a flat rate for all of my services. I e-mail you a quote for your event and my price reflects me operating for the entire length of an event and not hourly.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Either I contact them through thumbtack initially or they contact me if they saw me at a wedding or got my information via word of mouth. I give them my spiel about my services and then answer any questions they might have. Assuming they want to move forward with me as their DJ/photobooth guy, I send them a contract to review along with planning materials to get them started thinking about the music and events they want to include in their celebration. From there we coordinate via phone/e-mail or may meet in person closer to the day of the event to go over any final changes, then we are ready to party!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I teach public speaking courses at Kent State University which really helps with my MC'ing skills and vice versa as I talk a lot about my experiences as a DJ in the classroom. DJ'ing middle school dances helps to keep me up to date with the latest music releases. Additionally, I read up on music charts like the billboard top 100 and am constantly listening to music to stay current.
