Stephanie and Bret are very professional and extremely knowledgable. They have helped my husband and me turn our dog into a well-behaved German Shepherd Dog. They were quick to respond to my first inquiry about dog training. I like that they not only were interested in our one dog, but also looked at the whole pack (as we have a few dogs) and even evaluated them as a group. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great experience training your pup.

Lisa has been a pet sitter & dog walker for my Weimaraner for going on two years and when she comes to the door my dog couldn’t be any more excited to see her and go on it’s walk. Very prompt and professional with a great personality, I highly recommend her if your interested in having someone walk and or sit your furry family member.

Mac's Home Pet Care

We absolutely loved Mac! We found ourselves in a situation where we were leaving for vacation in 1 week and our 9 month old German Shepherd started her heat cycle and the sitter we had originally lined up was no longer able to take her. We found Mac through a recommendation and she was so prompt and responsive in being able to do it such short of notice and with answering all our questions and being flexible in being able to get a meeting set up prior to us leaving. We are so grateful for Mac and all that she did for us while we were out. She sent us pictures, updated us on our pup and our cat. She was even able to not only house sit for us at night, but came over during the work week on her lunch break to let our pup outside and run around a little bit. The house was spotless when we got home too! Would highly recommend.

After trying other local groomers and pet stores, Alex is the only person I will allow to groom my fur baby. She is very careful, caring, and precise. Alex always exceeds my expectations. Donald

I provide a personalized grooming for your pet. I will also pet sit at my home while you are on vacation. I will treat the pets like my own. My yard is fully fenced, and your pet will be completely happy while here with me.

This job involves a life long passion.

I do not "officially" have a full-time pet sitting business. However, I have taken care of other people's pets as I would my own. Since I had to put my dog to sleep a year and a half ago, I have not gotten another pet (yet). I always tell people that I treat their dog(s) the way I'd want mine to be treated -- with lots of TLC (Most people want to be my dog in their next life!).

I am a firm believer that pets make the world better. Pets are always caring for their humans, so I think it's important that when owners need help, they have someone who will love their pet come along. I will travel to walk your dogs, cats, and whatever animal you may have. I can also be there to feed, wash and even administer medicine to your pets if they need it.

My work stands out from others because I'm a natural when it comes to animals. I've been around them all my life and I've worked with them all my life, from shelters to vet offices to kennels. I genuinely care about the animal and its needs.

I am starting a business where I walk dogs. I also sit pets anything from cats and dogs and horses. I am just starting to turn it into a business, but I have sat for friends and families' dogs, cats and horses for years now. I love animals and want to make this my career.

I am a local pet sitter and dog walker who is reliable and trustworthy! Contact me for a free meet and greet and I can provide references.

My name is Sam, and I'm a huge animal lover. I own and take care of four dogs, and I want more! I love going on walks and to dog parks and spoiling my animals. If you hire me, your pet is in good hands and will get loads of attention!

I like to take time to work with dogs and treat them like a family member. I play ball and whatever else can be done.

I hardely ever have anything going on so i will be able to come on short notice and i take alot of pride in my work.

We feel confident while you are on vacation or at work that your pet will receive the best care possible. Experience caring for dogs and cats of all sizes and ages, as well as horses.

I love cleanliness. I'm very OCD when it comes to being clean. There are no exceptions! I love to also take care of animals. It's the one thing that makes your whole day by being with a pet.

    Q & A

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Thumbtack.

How much should you pay for a pet sitter?

Pet sitting provides your precious pet with in-home care. A pet-sitter can make a brief visit during the day to provide snacks, playtime or affection, or stay at your house for one or more nights to tend to your pet. Prices for pet-sitting will vary based on length of the visit. Nationally, pet sitting prices range from $20 to $30, although prices run higher for your sitter to stay the night. Prices will also be affected by where you live in the country. Here are some examples of average pet-sitting prices based on length of time and region:

    • 30-minute visit: $17 in a small Texas town.
    • 30-minute visit: $25 in Southern California.
      • 45-minute visit: $28.
      • 60-minute visit: $32.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $50 in Texas.
    • Overnight stay (10 hours): $85 in Southern California.
      • 12 hours: $100.
      • 24 hours: $200. This is a good option for a sick, elderly or brand-new pet that needs constant supervision.

How much does it cost to hire a house sitter?

House-sitting can be a lifesaver when you’re leaving town for any length of time. Whether you work remotely, you’re taking a much-needed vacation, or you just want to road-trip for a few days, it’s wise to have a pro keep an eye on your house and pets while you’re gone. Your home is more likely to stay safe and you won’t have to wrangle the kitty into a kennel to travel with you. The national average pet-sitting price ranges between $20 and $30. Pet-sitting and house-sitting costs will vary based on where you live in the country and regional labor rates. Another factor in cost is how long you want the house-sitter to stay. Some people prefer to have the house-sitter stay the night at their house, perhaps to care for an elderly pet or simply to keep a watchful eye on the home at all times. Overnight stays will cost more, ranging anywhere from $50 to $100, depending on services provided. For day visits, house-sitting and pet-sitting prices will increase incrementally the longer the visit and the more service you want performed. For example, a quick 10-minute visit to feed and walk the pet and bring in the mail could be $12.50, a 25-minute visit could be $18, a 40-minute visit $25, and a 50-minute visit $32.
