I have built 2 houses in my lifetime and have worked with a lot of contractors. Darren is as good a contractor as it gets.He is very knowledgeable, shows up for work on time ,does outstanding work and is honest. He is a jack of all trades and will save you money buy doing the work himself instead of subbing out some of the work to sub contractors. For my wife's kitchen remodel he installed the ceramic floor and backerboard.Installed new kitchen cabinets and installed old cabinets in garage.and installed the backsplash himself. He recut the bottom of the doors, painted some of the doors and windows and did it all himself. I would recommend Darren to anyone,He will do the work correctly and at a fair price. Tim K

The price was low, but once the job was "done" it became very apparent that you get what you pay for. The job was supposed to take a week and ran 3 days over forcing us to move into a construction zone even though we were guaranteed by Darren that the work would be done by the deadline. The job could have been completed on time, but the crew didn't have a sense of urgency. They were gone at 4:00pm every day even when the deadline was approaching. The paint job was very sloppy and after the crew was gone we found closets that were primed, but never painted. Trim that was never painted to match throughout the house. Numerous spots that could have been touched up where the workers carelessly got paint on the trim or ceiling. The laminate hardwood floors look good, and for the most part that job seems good, but there are transition strips that are bowed and flex when you walk on them. The caulking used at the edges of the flooring was done very sloppily and runs onto door jams and trim. Overall, the price was the only positive, but looking back, I'd pay more to get a better crew. I'd recommend going with another construction team because this one takes entirely too long to complete a job that will look rushed when "finished."
Fluty Construction Services's reply
The painting was free, and you said not to worry about closets, also painting trim was only "touch up". flooring was done in the time allotted. you asked me to throw in the paint job, which caused our timeline to extend. The only complaint I feel responsible for would be the transition strips. If you purchase quality transitions, for the specific application I will install them for free.

Darren was great to work with. He was mindful of our budget, helpful with recommendations to maximize it and flexible with getting the job done as quickly as possible. The work looks great and I will recommend him to anyone looking for a carpenter.
