Introduction: Photography is my passion and has been since my first camera long ago. I learned the basics using black and white film and spent hours in darkrooms developing and printing my own photos. Learning with film and not having the luxury of sheer quantity of photos for the perfect image made me pay attention to the process of taking a good photo. With sometimes only 12 exposures per roll you learn to make them count! That said, I am meticulous. Instead of solely relying on large quantities of photos and editing software, I focus on getting the perfect shot in as little exposures as necessary. Because of my background in film photography I am able to take properly exposed images that don't require heavy editing. I use editing software primarily touch ups, skin corrections, and overall enhancement. Being there, in the moment, with people who are coming together for something special. Weddings are obviously filled with excitement and joy but the smaller sessions are great as well. Senior photos are an example of this; they are a milestone! Everyone involved is so happy to be there. The students are excited, they bring their own props to showcase their personality and achievements, and you have the chance to get creative and make something that they'll be sharing with everyone. Families also bring a lot of love and joy to a session. Being able to be there and share their experience is great.

Amanda is so gracious and enthusiastic person you can meet. She had asked me to take part in a photo shoot she was working on, and it was a great time. We met at her house and did the shoot outside in her backyard. Even though it was freezing out, I completely forgot because we were having so much fun. She wanted to do this new thing and have me blow some confetti in air and capture it in the moment. I can't believe how amazing the photos came out, she really made me feel good about myself and it's going to sound cliche, but she made me feel pretty. Because average typical girls like myself do not get asked to take part in photo shoots and she asked me. She sees the beauty on in all women. Amanda the entire time was telling me how amazing the photos were turning out and she was giving some great directions on how to pose. I wouldn't have changed anything except I wish we had more confetti and more time together, because it was the best time I have ever had. Oh and she allowed me to take some photos of her as well and were bouncing ideas off of each other throughout the shoot, which was cool because she is great about taking others ideas and suggestions.

Amanda has been my partner on many projects and I always look forward to working with her. She has an adaptive style with an excellent eye for composition. She is always on time and prepared for the job at hand. She frequently goes above and beyond. For example, she assisted me on a wedding where the bride provided a specific shot list for us to complete. Not only did she complete the shot list and more, but she also took it upon herself to get started on some of my list when she finished before I did. Even though we live two hours away from each other, she stayed in frequent contact with me and was prompt in finishing her editing and getting the finished images to me. She is my favorite partner and I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a photographer!

I needed portraits and action shots of my band for websites, press kits, and demos. She was on time and very easy and fun to work with. Brought good equipment as well as a backup camera. She went above and beyond in getting me what i needed. Amanda took the types of photos i needed, as well as suggesting some poses of her own, which came out fantastic! Amanda wasn't like everyone else. I mean that by, she knows her stuff. She isn't just someone who just bought the latest fancy digital equipment and watched a few tutorials. No. She even did some shots on 35mm black and white film and developed and printed it all herself. I was presented with physical negatives, prints as well as digitized negatives. Cool! Amanda will get the shots you want, without getting in the way of the event going on. She conducts herself very professionally Shes very creative and fun to work with. Would highly recommend.

Amanda is an awesome photographer! We just did a maternity photo shoot, and she showed up with plenty of fun and flattering ideas. On top of that she was very receptive to my own ideas for the shoot, and was willing to brainstorm together to think of photo concepts that we both might have missed on our own. I highly recommend her!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My pricing system is straight forward; there are no hidden fees or costs. My clients know up front the service they are paying for. There are options to accommodate different budgets and needs. Not everyone needs the same thing so I believe very much in being flexible.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly looking for new techniques to try and ways to improve my work. This field is always changing so I feel it is important to not settle for what you know just because it worked in the past.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I thoroughly enjoy the human experience and being able to capture joy, laughter, affection, love, etc. It is deeply satisfying to be able to share those moments with clients. Photography has always been a passion of mine but being a part of that human connection and being able to share those special moments is what got me interested in wedding and event photography specifically.
