I offer very professional and friendly services. I have 17 years of experience in the following services: * PC repair * Cleaning * Speedup * Anti-virus * Data back/recovery * Network (wireless and wired) * Firewalls * Printers * Digital cameras and other PC peripherals * Training, etc. I have 12 years of experience in the following services for small businesses: * Networks * Data sharing, storage and backup * PC support * Battery backup (UPS) support * Printers * Firewall * Routers * Server management * Training, etc. Many times I have received compliments on how patient I am with customers lacking the training on computers. I see all my customers as very intelligent people who just happen not to have spent enough time learning the computer. I charge a $10 gas surcharge if I visit your location. I waive the surcharge if you bring me the device that needs repair. I have been teaching myself website design and building using the following technologies: HTML5/XHTML5, PHP, and MySQL. I charge $100 for a simple website with 2 pages like mine, and I charge $25 per additional page that is part of the home page design. I charge $250 for a website with up to 5 pages and has forms or dynamic pages using a MySQL database's contents to populate pages interactively with the customers' visits, and I charge $45 per additional page. I have had an MCSE certification in 1999, and a CCNA certification in 2006 which I renewed in 2010 and are still active.(show more)

In Most Case, We can do it all in one visit, not multiple visits. * Computer diagnostics and troubleshooting This service is included is our all-inclusive, in-home/on-site service call. We will examine your computer and its environment, determine the problem, and correct it. Yes, environment does play a role in your computer's performance. Even the temperature of your computer's location affects its performance. Having your computer boxed up in a desk causes it to overheat faster (randomly turns off). Having your computer sitting directly on carpet can allow static discharges building up on your computer (ever been zapped turning on your computer?) These are the things computer repair shops cannot fix when you drop your computer off for repair because they didn't see the environment that could be causing your problems. * Removal of viruses, spyware, malware, root-kits and other nasties There are thousands of new viruses created every day, and the security software companies do a good job of keeping up; but occasionally, a new virus circumvents your security software and wreaks havoc on your computer. Now what do you do? Call us. We have the tools and the experience to safely remove 95% of the new viruses that we see on clients' computer without losing your personal files (documents, pictures, music, and movies) and software. On top of having an active anti-virus program, we recommend everyone have at least one manually operated security program on their computers and run them at least once a week. This service is included in our all-inclusive, in-home/on-site service call. * Wipe and re-install service Sometimes, the only way to remove a virus is to wipe and re-install the operating system. Yes, that is like curing the disease by killing the patient; but in the world of computers, it is a necessary evil. Rest assured that if we have to take this option, we will remove all your personal files (photos, videos, documents) off your computer's hard drive before we do the wipe and re-install procedure. This way, once the wipe and re-install is done, we can restore your files. We do request that if you have specialized software on your computer, we need to be aware of it so we can capture those files also. On a side note, Microsoft themselves recommends wiping and reinstalling the operating system on your computer every 2-3 years. Another indication that your computer needs a wipe and re-installed is when turning on your computer and receiving only the black screen with a flashing cursor, or it reboots constantly. This means the operating system is corrupted, or the hard drive is starting to fail. Either way, the operating system will need to be re-installed. As always, this service is included in the all-inclusive, in-home/on-site service call. * Hard drive failures and data recovery services You turned on your computer, and it tells you: no boot drive detected. Oh no! All your photos, music, documents are gone, and you didn't backup your files. The good news is, in most cases, we can recover your files and repair your hard drive. The time it takes to do a hard drive recovery and repair depends on how extensive the damage is to your hard drive and the size of the hard drive. Most of the time, we can complete the job in 72 hours; but sometimes, we can't. As with everything so far, this service is included in the all-inclusive, in-home/on-site service call. * Data destruction Never pass a computer on to a family member or a stranger without first having the information on the hard drive completely destroyed. We have the technology and the expertise to ensure the data on your hard drive is completely erased and can never be recovered by any means. We are so confident of this service that we will provide you with a certificate of data destruction that you can give to your homeowner or renters insurance, if needed. This service is also included in our all-inclusion, in-home/on-site service call. * Cloud data backups 100GB - $4/month Ever heard of Carbonite or Mozy? They are remote backup providers (they back up your documents, pictures, music, and movies). Basically, your computer dumps your important files onto their server; and if your computer ever dies, you can retrieve your files later after your computer is fixed. Well, we have the exact same service but better. Not only could you restore your files to your computer after it is fixed (note: we do this automatically if we fix your computer), but you can access your files anytime from any computer that has internet access while you have this service. * Computer disposal - free Never ever throw away a computer. If you are getting rid of a computer, call us and we will come get it from you for free. Once we have it, we will destroy all the data on the hard drive and mail a certificate of data destruction. After that, the computer will be broken down into individual parts with plastic and metals being recycled, and the other components taken to Goodwill of Sandusky for recycling. Remember, the service is free. * Replacement of computer parts The parts in a computer are just like parts in a car. They go bad over time from normal wear and tear. Most parts in a computer can be changed quickly and are relatively inexpensive. The most common part to fail in computers is its power supply which runs about $50 to $60 on average. The next thing to fail is the computer's cooling system which costs about $5 to $25. * Memory upgrades Most computers sold at big-box stores like Walmart, Staples and Best Buy have just enough RAM memory to operate the computer without any additional software. As soon as you start adding software's like Yahoo, Skype, a few games, and the clutter from surfing the web, it starts to slow down. A memory upgrade will make your computer run faster (to the limits of its design) and give it plenty of room for all the additional software you want. Most computers can have the RAM memory maxed out for $100 to $200. Trust us on this, you will notice the difference. * Hard drive upgrades So you noticed you are running out of space on your computer. You quickly run down to Walmart or Best Buy, and the sales associate promises you this is the best replacement hard drive for your computer. They even sell you the software to transfer your files from your old drive to your new one. You get home, sit down to your computer, pull out the software and the hard drive then stall from dread. Now what? The sales associate made it sound so easy. Hard drive upgrades are not as easy as a sale associate make them out to be, especially if you are cloning one drive to another. Call us and we will take the worry out of the process and have your computer back to you within 72 hours. * Video card upgrades You went out and purchased the hottest, newest game. After installing it, it either does not work, extremely slow and jerky or you get the message that your video card is not powerful enough. But what video card should you get and will it work in your computer? This is where we come in. We can examine your system and determine if the video card you need will work in your computer. If not, we might know of an alternative that works just as good. * Modified computers We build modified computers for all of your needs. When it comes to the words custom and computers, a lot of people think it' only for gaming computers; but that it's not always true. A modified computer can be any computer that is designed to do a specific task or multiple tasks with better, quality parts than off-the-shelf stock computer systems from a retail box store or online stores that sell stock computers. Stock computers are ones that you don't have a choice of parts that come with it. You do your best at finding one that hopefully fits your needs for what you want to do with it. More often than not, we find that clients spent a lot of money for a mediocre computer and then end up spending a lot more money to upgrade that computer to perform better for their needs. With Computer Garages' modified computers, we keep the costs down to a minimum by helping you understand what best fit your needs. You do have choices and a say in what you get for your money with our expertise. We will assist you in making the right choices by listening to what you need your computer to do and giving our feedback as to what would be the best choice to make. Modified computer designs include: * Gaming PC is designed to run at top CPU and memory performance. (We reserve the right not to/and will not (OC) overclock a computer.) * Home/business word/data processing PC - built to perform best for word and data processing capabilities. All office programs are included with word and data processing software. * Server computers - custom designed to network all of the computers in your business or designed to run your web-based business. Note: All warranties and guarantees will be voided and will not be honored on computers found to be (OC) overclocked by the customer or other person/s that made changes to the original computer configurations outside of manufacture recommendations. Please consult the computer manuals for your brand for manufacture recommendations. Computer Garage has the right to refuse to honor warranties and guarantees on any new computer bought from us that we find out has been worked on and/or modified by the client or another computer repair service.(show more)
