FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I remember going to get my daughter's senior pictures and having a low session fee, then the sticker shock of the portrait packages that I could not afford. I don't like that this is a common practice, so I choose to set a reasonable setting fee to cover editing, digital proofs and equipment/lighting. There will be a reasonable package fee for prints or digital flash drives with rights to print yourself. No bait and shock here. Let's be family friendly.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
So this is what I would tell my daughter...In looking for a photographer, I suggest you find someone you can relate to, someone dependable who does good work and is reasonably priced. Your photos are precious memories, so they are worth an investment, within reason. Look at her work and see if it speaks to you. Meet her and see if you feel comfortable with her shooting your picture all day. Your photographer is an important part of your day, she walks through the whole experience with you, find someone special who will make you feel cared for throughout the event.
