I need to say some great things about Sit Means Sit, also known as Come on Command. I have had dogs my whole life and never had a problem. Shepherds, beagle mixes, cairne terriors, Australian Shepherds, etc, no problems. I got Gibbs and it was game on. He was smart as a whip and eager to please but scared aggressive. He has given me twisted elbows, sprained wrists, a hurt hip, broken a gentle leader, ignored a prong collar, and laughed at a no-jump harness. We finally met with a trainer and though it seemed pricy at the first we went ahead and paid for a positive reinforcement collar. We are almost done with training and it has been great but tonight I almost wept with relief at watching the lesson with my dog learning to not be crazy, lunging, get them first attack man with other dogs. He's a good dog and we love Gibbs but to see him finally -not- going insane in attempt to get them first made me almost cry. I couldn't have had this moment without the trainers from Sit Means Sit and I greatly greatly appreciate them. I am hopeful to pass the off leash test for all commands next month when we go for it but if we have a relapse or forgotten command, they guarantee it and will keep training Gibbs until he passes with flying colors. Right now though, I am so pleased with his advancement I think it was worth every penny!!!
Katie was one of the trainers who trained my service dog as a puppy. Without Katie's hard work, Leni would not be the partner for me that she is. Leni is not a quiet, obedient dog. She has a mind of her own and can be a bit too smart for her own good. Katie set the foundation for Leni's training when she was a puppy so that she could be the dog she is for me today. I now rely on Leni as my medical alert dog to keep me safe, and it is the obedience training foundation and task training that she received that make her able to do her job and do it well. Having Leni has changed my life, and the training Katie did with her has been a huge reason that Leni has become the service dog that she is. Katie is incredibly talented as a trainer and knows how to connect with each dog to get the best out of them. Choosing Katie to train your dog will not disappoint!
The trainer that I talked was very helpful and listened to my needs in training my puppy and even offered additional training in the futurer
Amy has been fantastic to work with. We’ve had many people say they’ve noticed a change since we’ve been working with her. We needed the training just as much as our dog did! I have already recommended her to a few people who told me they needed training for their dogs.
I absolutely loved working with Offleash K9 Training. Everything was explained in a way that alleviated any fears I may have had. Even when my dog was being stubborn there was no aggravation.
Kathleen did an awesome job training Marley! He goes in his kennel on command, walks so much better on the leash and stays in place when told to do so! The overall function of our house has massively improved thanks to Family Dog K9 Training!!
She has a wealth of knowledge about cats, and their behaviors. She immediately gave us some ideas of what we do to help our cats and their behavior issues. She was very professional and we are looking forward to continuing to work with her!
We have historically taken our three dogs to a boarding facility during our trips out of town. However, our two English Mastiffs are getting up there in age and our young English Bulldog tends to back-step on her house training after a stay away from home. Our female Mastiff has hip issues and requires a body harness and meds. Ashley actually stayed at the house during our trip, which gave us further peace of mind that she was there for them if something may have happened (they tried to eat a sock or hurt a hip, etc.). We also have a rabbit and leopard gecko and previously had to find someone in addition to take care of them. Ashley did it all. On the first night, to our embarrassment, our oldest Mastiff is a crotchety old man and initially let his frustration known of someone new staying in his house by doing his business in the living room. Ashley was very understanding and cleaned up until he felt comfortable with her. They must have enjoyed her company because they slept in the guest bedroom the night after we got home. She cleaned up the house on her last day and did much more than necessary. It was an extra perk that we were able to come home and get a big welcome home from the crew rather than having to go pick them up. Now, I don't want to give Ashley too good of a review in fear of others minimizing our chances of benefiting from her services, but she really did a great job!
The owner Brian is very good with our dog. He treated him like he was his. He was very professional and patient with him. He was very very good.
We have been customers for over a year and have been very happy to have someone dependable and trustworthy to take care of our dog. Our dog has been walked every day that we have needed help without exception.
Josh and Brittany are incredible. We signed up our 10 month old Rhodesian Ridgeback for their 2 week program and had an awesome experience. As soon as we walked in the door, we knew Nala was in good hands. They treat each dog as if it's their own. Nala came into the program with several bad habits (jumping, nipping, counter surfing, barking, etc.). The typical puppy stuff. The drop off was fantastic. Josh and Brittany explained the program in detail and made sure they addressed all of our concerns. Not more than a half hour after drop off, Josh had already sent me an email with an update saying Nala had settled in nicely. Every thing about these folks is first class. Throughout the two weeks, we were provided with updates through social media and email. Our minds were at complete ease throughout the two weeks. Pick up went amazing as well. Josh and Brittany went over everything they had taught Nala and made sure we were comfortable and set up for success at home. Nala has only been home a couple days now and her bad behaviors have essentially disappeared. And, she hasn't lost any of her personality. A miracle! We cannot promote Lead the Way enough. Great program and great people. They are on a different level from any other training program. Thank you so much Josh and Brittany!
I was referred to Sky Dogs when I adopted a deaf dog from Spreak! for the Unspoken. Allison Holloway teaches a special needs class for deaf, blind, and deaf-blind dogs and puppies. Once we got the basics down, we found the training staff was open to us joining in other classes. Nosework, treibball, flyball, agility, and many other courses are open to all dogs. If you need help improving your dog's social skills, there are behavioral classes as well. The cost is very reasonable. The center is located at Central Point in Columbus and there is plenty of well lit parking. Besides the affordable prices and friendly atmosphere, Sky Dogs fosters a sense of community among participants and provides opportunities for people (and their dogs) to volunteer to help out in rescue efforts.
Tiffany was great to work with and did an excellent job with Lulu, our goldendoodle puppy. I would highly recommend her!
A talented dog trainer who knows how to work with my dogs and with me! Often my dogs are responding to something I'm doing (wrong) and I don't realize it. Lauren is able to see how my actions and emotions play into my dog's behavior. Her experience with rescue groups also provides background knowledge on animals and how they interact with other dogs and with people that just can't be taught. She's put in years of time with dogs and people and you can tell. I highly recommend her as a trainer!!
Do you have to bribe, threaten, or trick your dog into listening? Does your dog have to be shut away instead of enjoying life with you? Do you know your dog could be great, if only he wasn’t so wild and out of control? If your dog is barking, biting, chasing, running away, and in general ruining your life, we can help. If your dog listens when there’s nothing better to do, but does what he wants as soon as something more interesting comes along, we can fix that too. The worse your dog is today, the better he can be tomorrow.
I train dogs with reward training. I train the person how to train their dog and show them how to put it in place.
All breeds are welcome. Our training centers on aggression issues, basic training, and house training. If your dog has some problems in these areas, we can help you. We only use positive reinforcement and tons of love to train your baby. We also work with many rescues in the Central Ohio area.
Meet me at my training site, The Green Barn 4 Dogs, and I will help you learn how to train/communicate with your dog. I'll show you ways to have fun, so both you and your dog will learn new skills.
We can train any dog for any task, obedience or behavioral. Your problem can be trusted with us. Your dog will receive challenging exercise and work for his rewards, resulting in learning and overall mental and physical wellness for your companion. They will be desensitized to a multitude of distraction and be given black and white directions on how to respond to those distractions through praise or corrections. I also provide FitPet daycare for owners seeking to get their dogs well exercised or advanced classes such as agility, sports and protection.
I do force free positive reinforcement basic dog obedience training.
