- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am constantly trying out new techniques and teaching myself to do more complicated stuff. I take some online courses as well.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
My mom was a chef and I grew up learning the basics at her feet. I knew from a young age that it was what I wanted to do. I watched cooking shows instead of cartoons on Saturday morning.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It takes a lot of time, money and effort to do what I do. My prices are a little higher than some others in this area, but unlike some of my competition, I do everything from scratch. No mixes, no premade anything comes into my kitchen. It is an industry standard to use industrial cake mix for a more uniform product. It is not my standard. There is a reason that you can get a cupcake at Walmart for $.50 and I charge $1.75. Please respect the difference.
