What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I will answer any of their questions and provide a cleaning quote. Then we will choose wether they want a deep cleaning or basic cleaning for their first initial clean. Then we will choose a day and time that I have a available that will work best for them, I then come to their home on the scheduled appointment with my cleaning supplies and my can-do attitude. They can stay home or go on with their day whatever suits them best. I clean from the time I get there until their entire home (or partial home if that's what they want) is completely clean from corner to corner. I then get paid (cash or check), and go home. I like it simple :)
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I started doing house hold chores just like anyone does but I then gained a job at the age of 18 in the cleaning industry. I worked for a residential cleaning company (Merry Maids) during the weekdays and an office cleaning company (A Fresh Start) during week nights and evenings. It was something I always fully enjoyed. And as of now I have 5 years experience cleaning homes as self employed after I made the change to work independently. I have over 50 clients between me and my two cleaners who have stayed with me (some for the full 5 years) and are very happy to be a client of ours
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Our pricing is based on the square footage, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms needing to be cleaned, and also the occurrence of the cleaning (weekly, biweekly, monthly, or one-time)
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have always loved cleaning. It had just been something I enjoy and from the age of 16 I applied to maid service jobs until I finally got hired at Merry Maids and after a while I decided to clean on my own because my clients told me I would do very well
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types of people, work from home moms and dads, full time working moms and dads, stay at home moms and dad, senior citizens, doctors, lawyers, teachers, police officers, real estate agents, apartment managers, single families, married families, couples with kids, couples without kids, bachelors, bachelorettes. Really I have worked with all types of people but one thing remains the same: I believe that everyone deserves to come home to clean! Regardless of your lifestyle, profession, beliefs, or level of non-cleaning
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am always fond of initial deep cleans. I love getting in a home that really needs a good scrubbing and working my magic. Afterwards the homes always look like new and the clients are always so happy which is my favorite part. These cleanings can take 6-8 hours depending on the condition and size of the home
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise them to either read reviews or ask for some referrals. Also to ask any and all questions you may have.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
You should ask if they are bonded and insured, for some referrals or review links, how long they have been in service, do they clean themselves or send someone else, if you need to be home during cleaning, what kinds of payment forms they accept, what products and equipment do they use, do they have special products specifically for hardwood floors stainless steel or granite if that applies, and lastly I would ask for a cleaning checklist of what they will do in the name of clean while in your home so you know what you are paying for exactly. Also, a lot of people have animal fears or allergies so I would ask if they are pet-friendly if that applies to you.
