FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I'm here to make money but not to steal from customers. Sometimes things come up that add to the cost or time to finish the job. I generally add a little extra to cover these things but for the most part I'm happy if I can average about $30 per hour on a job. If I am paying help then obviously it will be more likely around $40 per hour to complete the job.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Obtain personal information and schedule a time to meet at the jobsite to give a free quote. When presenting the quote: I would explain the details of work to be done, the time expected to complete the job, and the price of supplies and labor. I generally ask for 50% of cost up front and 50% at completion when the customer is 100% satisfied with the work done. Most of my clients are word of mouth so my goal is to create a customer for life.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I paint at a professional level, my tile work and carpentry are professional too. Plumbing and electrical are less familiar areas to me but I can do a professional job...it may just take me a little longer than a licensed pro. I'm really good with my hands and there is nothing I can't tackle.
