FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
On Handyman work I typically charge a 4hr/$150 minimum.. this allows for travel expense/trip to hardware store...etc. I have an hourly rate of $35hr. This applies to jobs that exceed 4hrs. Within that 4hr minimum I typically try to be honest if the work is easy and charge less than posted.. In the end it all works out for the best if the customer is satisfied with my work and trusts me to be their guy in the future.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy getting to know people and building relationships where the customer can know me well enough to call in advance on a specific need and be able to discuss things, with no surprises down the line. I typically ask customers to add me as a friend on social media... social media is honestly the best way to connect with people by name and face.. Sometimes phone #'s and business cards get lost.. it just happens.
