Introduction: I have been a professional dog trainer and canine behavior specialist for 20 years, working with pet parents and their pups with behavioral issues such as reactivity, aggression, shyness, and fearfulness, as well as doing puppy training and enrichment consulting. I worked in the veterinary field for nine years. In 2002 I started my pet care & training business, offering training, pet sitting and dog walking specializing in pets who need extra care. In 2016 I opened my Doggy Daycare enrichment center in Seaside. I hold numerous certifications and credentials including Accredited Professional Dog Trainer, Fear Free Professional Animal Trainer, Fear Free Doggy Day Care Provider, and Certified Enrichment Technician. I was voted "Monterey County Best" in the Monterey County Herald for four years running in two categories, Best Dog Training and Best Doggy Daycare.

I have an incredibly anxious dog, and I’ve gone to at least half a dozen “specialist” trainers over the years trying to find help for him. Katie is the first one to make any progress. She’s calm, confident, and completely aware of not only my dog’s needs and changes in behavior but also mine. Even in the first session, me and Ben improved, and the homework she assigned us has also been incredibly beneficial. I cannot recommend her enough.

It’s great to have a place for my dogs to go where I know that they are having fun and being looked after. They even do a nap time! I never would have thought of that. “Enrichment” is the key word. I’ve noticed their reactive barking has reduced as well. Not sure how they did it, but it works!

The initial session is $150 ($60 for additional sessions) unlimited text/email support included.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to first schedule a phone call to answer any questions and get all the details about the help needed before we schedule the initial session. After each session I provide a training plan that works for you and your schedule.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have over 20yrs experience in dog behavior and care. I am a Certified and Accredited Fear Free Dog Trainer. I participate in continue education on a regular basis.
