Introduction: PDX Premier stands out because of our great customer relationships we've built over the years. We have been in the business for over 5 years now, we're very experienced and we work hard to prove it! Other companies might be cheaper, but they usually break things, and take twice as long as we would have, costing you more money anyway. We get jobs done safely and efficiently, wasting no time, therefor saving you money. We rely on this continued cycle of repeat business through word of mouth, from people being so impressed with our work ethic mixed with the care and concern shown to their belongings. So we make it our daily goal, to always provide the best service, leaving every customer with their best moving experience yet! Being a small family owned business, we can't afford to spend a fortune on advertising, so we rely on our customers to help us with that. We hear it all the time, that either it's a customers first time hiring movers and they'll never move again without calling us because it was so easy and totally worth it, or that we were so incredible because we got the job done in half the time as the last guys. We've even had dispatchers from other moving companies call us to move them because our reputation is that strong. We want to do your next move as well as the first, so we make it our goal to have 100% customer satisfaction, every time, whether its your first move with us or your 4th. Being a small family owned business, and parents of 4 young boys, this job is very flexible with our lives, and children's schedules. We also only employee top quality movers with previous moving experience, so we usually only have a small tight knit team of movers at all times. We really enjoy being able to meet new clients and create networks with them, all in a days work. It can also be very interesting to see some of the different items and unique pieces that people have. We have also had the great privilege to see many things that we could have only otherwise seen in the movies, museums, or foreign countries, so that is definitely a pretty nerdy perk of the business as well. This is also a great profession for someone like myself, who gets tired of walking into the same office, going to sit at the same desk, and having to turn on the same computer everyday. All of our employees appreciate the idea of being able to have new scenery everyday, as they usually not only get to see not one, but two beautiful new homes each day. While moving can be mentally stressful, and physically exhausting for anyone's bodies day after day, I think having a new work environment on the daily is extremely beneficial in keeping a good moral and positive attitudes.

A lot of things changed right before the move (I decided to move out the date because I couldn't pack in the heat, then broke my wrist right before the move was supposed to happen and couldn't finish packing) and PDX Premier always answered super quickly to my questions/concerns and the movers took it in stride on the day of the move and helped pack, removed junk, made sure we had enough boxes,...they were AWESOME and took away the shame I felt about being so unprepared. Obviously, the move took longer than we first planned because a lot of packing still needed to be done but all throughout the day, they stayed professional and super pleasant to work with. I had a great experience with this company and would not hesitate to recommend them to friends or use them again myself.

I highly recommend PDX Premier College Movers. Our three movers showed up on time today, we’re careful with our furniture, worked non-stop, and were very personable. This is my first experience using a moving company and I wouldn’t hesitate to call them again!

I was a bit apprehensive initially but Kathryn who coordinated with me on the move was prompt and responsive. The quote was reasonable. Considering the reviews, ratings of PDX Premier on Thumbtack & my interaction with Kathryn via Thumbtack's messaging/email, I decided to go with them. Subsequently, I made some changes by adding an additional pick up point that Kathryn accepted without fuss. Jamal, Nick & Devin arrived promptly, were very professional, accommodative and respectful. They knew their business and went about it very efficiently. They made the move very easy for us. Disassembly & re-assembly of our furniture, packing, loading+unloading, placing it as per our request at our new home was accomplished very smoothly. In hindsight, I realize that I made a very good decision. Thanks guys... Full marks to you all.

They took great care to make sure my household items arrived in good condition, and they assembled everything at my new house very quickly. Worth every penny!

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

    Our pricing is set by the Acceleration Transportation Bureau, and approved by the state of Oregon, ODOT. It is a set hourly rate, and unfortunately we're legally restrained from allowing any type of discount at this time. If you find other companies offering a much cheaper hourly rate, or a cheaper flat quoted price, you are likely receiving this quote from an unlicensed, and uninsured moving company. An unlicensed, or "illegal moving company," should not be charging anywhere near the rates of a licensed company, as they obviously don't have any of the real overhead that we actually carry. Costs such as property insurance, cargo insurance, and workers comp, are the reason our rates are set by these authorities, so don't be fooled by similar yet cheaper pricing, always research to make sure your hiring a real, qualified, licensed, and most importantly, a insured professional, no matter what the service your requesting.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We like to try to schedule a personal walk thru, where we can have a business representative go out and meet the potential customer in person, while also getting a much better perspective on what the job will entail, and how long it will likely take to complete the move itself. If they're only available over the phone, we try to ask any questions we think will be relevant in us being able to help give the customer a timely accurate quote. We want to try and help them visualize any potential obstacle ahead of time, so they can either handle it beforehand, or let us know about it, giving us the preparation we need to be able to handle whatever it may be.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

    I personally have over 7 years of experience of moving household goods now, which I believe qualifies myself to be a very experienced mover. I've completed multiple training classes and seminars, provided my own training regimes to other companies employees, as well as provided the training to our own employees. Aside from the substantial amount of work experience, we keep pushing ourselves through college, trying to finish school, learning how to build a business, market a service, and working to establish our brand. Our reviews speak for themselves, as well as our US DOT certificate # 2837297, and our state certificate ODOT # 162815. Make sure whomever you hire, has these ID numbers, make sure they are licensed and insured.
