Rene did my hair and make up for my wedding and both looked amazing! She also did hair and make up for my my maid of honor, two bridesmaids, two junior bridesmaids, and flower girl -- she made everyone look beautiful and feel special. Rene did my hair and makeup for my wedding this August, as well as my bridesmaids' hair. She did a beautiful job, and it all looked as fantastic at the end of the night as it did when she had just finished it...and with an outdoor wedding on a windy day, that is saying a lot!! Rene is so sweet and paid such close attention to everything each girl wanted with their hair, and my makeup was done so perfectly! Thank you, Rene, you are seriously the best!!

Rene did my hair and makeup for my August 2014 wedding and she did AMAZING. I had a slight mishap with hair dye from another hairdresser and Rene came to my rescue and took all the brassy tones from my hair and made it the perfect baby blonde. I wanted an easy-going wavy curl half up do and she listened to my request perfectly ensuring that my floral head wreath would go with my hairstyle. She did my makeup beautifully, not only did it last all night without a smudge but it wasn't over done. I felt like I looked like myself (an improved version) and wasn't worrying that my insta-beauty looked fake. I had three bridesmaids whom she did their makeup as well. My MOH is Latina, my sister is whiter than a porcelain doll and my friend has a medium light skin tone and Rene nailed their face makeup. I had gone in for a trial where we found the look I was going for, but I was so impressed that she had 3 girls walk in with wide spectrum skin tones and made them all look and feel beautiful. I highly recommend her for any occasion's hair or makeup, she takes the time to create a totally perfect package and she's totally fun to be around.

I was recommended to Rene by a friend, so I scheduled a trial run. During my apt, she was doing my hair and someone else at the same time (should've been a red flag there). When i contacted her months later to do another trial run, she then tells me she has prior commitments and won't be able to do my wedding. I understand that people cancel, but to wait this long to tell me was really unprofessional. Also, it took 2 months for me to get my refund back! She said she was going to mail it to me, but never did. I finally had to go to her salon and get it from her. I understand, personal things outside of work-life happen, but there is still no excuse to be THAT rude and unprofessional. I would NOT recommend her; don't waste your time like I had to.

I am truely sorry for your frustration Carah. We informed you as soon as we knew about the scheduling complication-Months in advance. My first one ever in 8 years. Because I just don't do that. Wedding days are so important and brides depend on me. Unfortunately my first ever cancellation was on you. I even searched to find someone to set you up with, so that you weren't just abandoned and had an option. Can't say that the refund part is incorrect and address/mailing mistakes do make things not reach their destination. I did, however, offer to bring the check to you. You know, I can't say that businesses are always perfect. But thank you for your time and your patience. My best wishes to you and your new husband truely.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we chat about details over the phone or text. I email a form to fill out and mail back with roughly a 20% deposit... Then Set up a trial if desired on the date of a shower, bachelorette party, engagement photos. If it's more beneficial for you to use the makeup somewhere great. We do the wedding style, take pictures and then remove it so it's kept a secret. or whenever you'd like. Trials are $95
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Many years of doing wedding hair in Hawaii. Portland beauty school for my esthetics license. Most of my experience came from playing, experimenting, mixing products, and teaching clients how to do the makeup to themselves while I was a Mary Kay consultant. Taught groups of people at meetings and workshops.
