He was pleasant and professional. When Javier and I met the first time, I also spoke with Maria, his wife and co- worker, about the scope of the job and about not using chemicals on the weeds. During that phone conversation, Maria spoke to Javier in Spanish about all my requests. He understood and agreed readily (he speaks some English). It was obvious that he wanted the job and I was happy to hire him. He did excellent weeding work and asked me about how I wanted pruning done (natural shape); after carefully tending to all my plants & shrubs, he put the finishing touches on my landscape, clearing away all the leaves. Amy S. says, "We had already met with 2 pros and neither really paid attention to the project description, but Dan saw our project on Thumbtack as a great fit for his work and reached out to us. He was able to come out for a quote pretty quickly and gave us a good sense of what to expect. Our project was to remove all grass and weeds from our front yard while using cardboard and mulch instead of that awful weed barrier fabric. We also had him put in a dry creek bed. He started work within a couple weeks and was done in 3 1/2 days. He communicated well, was respectful of existing plants, and gave us the idea to enroll in the backyard habitat certification program as well. We look forward to working with him this fall/winter to fill the spaces with a native pollinator garden!"See more
