Introduction: My goal is to help people find the body they are naturally meant to have. Yoga helps calm the mind, eliminate stress and enable the body to find flexibility and health. I focus on alignment and establishing long-term results rather than just trying to 'get skinny fast'. I love that I get just as much out of teaching as those I teach. I feel privileged when I get to share in someone's practice, and elated when they feel renewed and energetic, less stressed and more physically healthy.

My experiences with Maigen as my yoga instructor have all been exceptional. From the very beginning, her pleasant manner put me at ease, and her communication is thoughtful and unambiguous. She is familiar with a wide variety of techniques, and is fantastic at tailoring the session to the specific needs of her participants. I'd recommend her to anyone and everyone!

I took Yoga in a small group from Maigen for a short while. I always felt better afterward, was relaxed, and the next day at work was always better than average. She's considerate of newbies and generally a blast to be around.

I liked my practice with Maigen, she's a fun and knowledgable instructor that offers a good balance between strengthening, flexibility, and meditation. She's a considerate leader and I felt that she was able to read the room well and also create a harmonious space to practice.

Maigen did three 1 hour sessions of yoga for my fiance' and I. It was fantastic. She was understanding, informative, helpful, and very skilled. She took the time to cater to us both. I highly recommend her and look forward to using her again.

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    I found the benefits of yoga to be tremendously helpful when I first discovered it. Through yoga, I worked through depression and self-confidence issues, found a healthy weight and fitness level and discovered ways to feel less anxious and agitated. If it can do all that for me, it can do that for anyone.

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    Talk to the professionals you are looking to meet, and find the personality that you identify most with. If you're comfortable with the person, learning or practicing yoga will be more enjoyable.

  • What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?

    One thing I hope people unfamiliar with yoga understand is that it has nothing to do with religion. The physical practice was developed to enable the mind to be calm enough to meditate. There are many yogic practices, but the yoga I teach is strictly physical. I don't even have to mention the unfamiliar (Sanskrit) names of poses or the chakras if you don't want to hear about it! I will tell you all about the muscles, tendons and fascia you're working with as you move through each posture, as well as the health benefits to each.
