I have lost over 100lbs and have gained strength and confidence. Chris really knows how to break things down and build a curriculum specifically for each person rather than a one size fits all routine. Highly recommend!

After a significant injury a few years ago I exhausted all of my Physical and Occupational Therapy benefits and the prognosis was that returning to my baseline wouldn’t be possible. Instead of settling for that, I signed up with Defensive Aesthetics. Coach Chris has designed a specialized program which has completely transformed my balance, endurance, and functional mobility. His training integrates realistic habit changes, targeted nutritional education, and high-intensity work with tailored drills that support my goals. As a Doctor of occupational therapy, I am impressed by his expertise and knowledge of biomechanics, kinetic chain alignment, and his attention to details to help me safely achieve correct form during training, that extends to activities outside of the gym. My 9 and 14-year-old also receive training at Defensive Aesthetics. As a mom, I’ve appreciated how well Coach Chris adapts his coaching style across age ranges. He brings a perfect mix of playful energy and discipline for my rambunctious 9-year-old, and focused training to help my 14-year-old meet their goals. Overall, I am incredibly grateful for the results I’ve achieved training at Defensive Aesthetics, and I highly recommend this elite asset to anyone who is looking to level up their health. To date, I have lost 32.1 lbs. (which is 66.46% of my weight loss goal, and 14 inches.

FAQs
What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Personal training is $400 per month for four sessions or $700 per month for eight sessions. Each session is approximately 50 minutes and includes individualized programming, instruction, and progress tracking.
Sessions are held at my Milwaukie studio or O’Malley’s Gym. No gym membership is required.
My focus is on consistent, long-term results rather than selling random workouts.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We start with an assessment. I want to understand your goals, training history, physical limitations, and what you’re actually willing to commit to.
From there, I build a program around you. We establish a baseline, train with purpose, and track measurable progress. As you improve, the program evolves.
My job isn’t to keep you dependent on a trainer. It’s to help you understand what you’re doing, why you’re doing it, and how to keep progressing.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I’ve spent over 15 years in the fitness industry as a personal trainer, fitness manager, and gym owner. I’m also a third-degree black belt in Krav Maga, with extensive experience teaching practical self-defense.
My coaching emphasizes high-intensity training (HIT), strength development, biomechanics, and recovery. Years of working directly with clients have taught me that effective programming comes from understanding the individual, not following a one-size-fits-all routine.
