Introduction: I offer family counseling. I work with couples, children and individuals.
For me, there is great satisfaction in helping people live fulfilling and satisfying lives. I believe as we work together, though it can be difficult at times, change can take place. I have seen great things happen as my clients and I work together to create a better life, instead of the drudgery that has often bogged them down. Therapy should be about listening, building trust, supporting, guiding, and participating in something new and fresh.
Therapy is an opportunity for clients and counselor to work together; its not time for a lecture from one of your parents, or a one-sided conversation. You should feel that your therapist listens, understands, and is able to help you in your journey. If your therapist doesnt make you think, question, wonder, and perhaps even at times grumble, then there is a chance that your current therapist may not be the right fit for you.
Through work as a counselor and as a special education teacher, I have been able to support families as they deal with adolescents, parenting issues, school-related problems, and special health needs. In the past, I have collaborated with judges, police departments, juvenile court, and probation officers in helping both families and their children with legal issues.
In experiences with my clients, one point has always stood out: no matter how troubling things become, life does get better.
I look forward to helping you experience something new and something exciting!
