It was exactly what I needed and wanted. It was simply adjusting my door so that it wasn’t so hard to open/close. He was prompt, friendly, and extremely capable. I’d ask him to come again

JR did an excellent job with the issues I had. He was punctual and was efficient in his work. The work was quality and he has a easy going laid back personality which made everthing go smoothly. Will hire him again.

I’m usually not one to leave a review nor am I one to bash anyone or their business. I am simply writing this review in hopes that I can help someone else or leave it up for other people to make their own judgements. So, I reached out to him last week about our garage door (door leading from the house to the garage) that needed to be replaced. Before buying our house, there was a general contractor that quoted us a price but because I am not one to settle, I decided to get a second opinion. After making multiple attempts to come out to our place, he shows up does a couple measurements, asks a couple of questions and says he’ll keep in touch (less than 20 minute job) But in the meantime, I was told to pay an initial $120 for his serve and the rest will be added or deducted later on. Which seemed a little sketch at the time, but I trusted he knew what he was doing. Towards the evening, we receive a text quoting us $1040 for the door repair. In addition to my $120 dollars, I was to put another 500 for a deposit and the rest will be paid after install. Mind you, the general contractor that come out initially only quoted us $500 (it was supposed to be just a simple door replacement but was told that the entire door frame will need to come off, with the trim and drywall). Definitely seemed a little extreme and totally out of budget, so we kindly said we couldn’t afford something like this at the time and that we are going to deny his services and we will just request for our $120 back. Which, he denied and said that he charges a fee and he drove an hour each way (this was definitely not mentioned previously). So all in all, not only did I loss out on a 120 dollars for nothing, my door is still not repaired and I will probably be a little more careful when choosing the right person and asking about payments even before paying them. In my opinion, it’s best to look for “free consultations” or something less than 120 fee especially if you’re just searching around for prices. Don’t get me wrong, he is a very nice guy, sounds like he is very knowledgeable, very responsive and accommodating but just be mindful of his prices whether you decide to hire him or not. Lesson of the day: Do your research and ask as many questions before hand.
