Zach is responsive, concise, informative, and collaborative.
I needed an architect to draw up a structural change I was planning as part of my home remodeling project. Zach responded to my request within the hour and we were able to work through a few drafts of the drawings in a week of him visiting the site. I'd definitely hire him again for my future design/architecture needs.

For 6 months I tried to get my concrete plans for my HOA approved. I hired Zachary to draw up some 3d plans to please the HOA and I am happy to say that my plans are finally approved. He was on time. He listened to what I needed. Offered his opinion and drew exactly what I needed. It was a fast and successful process and I would gladly hire him again.

I really enjoyed working with Homegrown Architects! The firm was timely, responsive but more than anything very thorough and professional. They knew what they were doing and did the leg work to work with the acuity to make sure everything was done properly. They kept a fiduciary responsibility to the client, making sure my interests were kept at center! Will definitely hire them again for future projects!!

I work for a Building Department in Oregon. Our Permit Technicians and Residential Plans Examiners have been extremely pleased with the quality and completeness of plans submitted to our office by Zachary Freund at Homegrown Architecture LLC. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees vary by project type and depend on how many hours I estimate I will spend on the project. I offer fees at an hourly rate or lump sum. Please inquire for fees on your specific project.
I offer:
Basic Services: or the minimum design & drawings required to receive a building permit for construction.
Additional Services: In depth design related to your specific needs. These include custom lighting design & selection, paint and material options, high performance energy efficiency, water protection quality control, construction administration, bidding and contractor selection assistance, landscape design and planting plans, interior finish options, and more. We can discuss which, if any, additional services you are interested in.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The best way to start a project is an in person/on-site meeting where we review project scope, goals, budget and timeline. I can then provide a process for achieving your goals and project completion and a proposal with fees and services provided. Once we come to an agreement I hit the ground running and work with you throughout the project from initial design sketches, to permit documents, through construction and completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Master of Architecture at University of Idaho and professional experience in Boise, Idaho and Portland, Oregon.
