FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I don't think of my pricing as complicated, however there is no "one price fits all". For me to give a price for an assignment, I need to know a variety of things,........ where is the photo to be shot, what are your expectations, how much equipment will I need to cover the job and a variety of details so that I have a clear understanding of what are the challenges involved and what may be my out of pocket expenses for the job, such as parking, location scouting, props, etc.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a part owner in Blend Images, the largest stock agency for multi-ethnic images. We have a very active network of smart, driven and knowledgeable photographers and we are continually sharing information regarding the business of photography, new equipment and software changes. This is an excellent group to be associated with.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
Like many people, I enjoyed photography as a child. After 3 years of college, I really didn't know what I wanted to do with my career and dropped out to work. During this time I met someone who had graduated from Brooks Institute of Photography and as an alumni, he was able to get me accepted into the school and begin my education, when at the time, there was a 2 year waiting list to attend.
