I first met Matt while he was teaching a class at the Chopping Block in Chicago. Matt was both courteous and professional. He was knowledgeable about each course he prepared...not just one. Being a novice in the kitchen, he was able to explain the different techniques in terms I could easily understand. Since then I've had the opportunity to sample his other creations. Whether it be something as creative as smoked pheasant ravioli to something as simple as tuna noodle casserole, everything he prepares is delicious. It always amazes me what he can come up with given a list of ingredients (I'd never think of making lamb hash out of leftover lamb chops). I'd definitely recommend Matt for any of your culinary needs. He's not only a great instructor but a fabulous cook as well.

Matt is very creative and pays attention to every detail. His passion for the culinary arts shows in everything he prepares. Also, his knowledge of sustainable foods adds to his expertise. As a "green" caterer, he pays attention to organic locally grown food, recyled products etc. I would recommend him for small intimate gatherings, cooking classes, corporate events and large events too.

I hired Chef Matthew for a Chef prepared in home dinner party for 12 people. This was my first time of having a Chef prepared dinner party, I was really nervous but Chef Matthew immediately put my mind at ease with his prompt and very informative communication. He stayed in touch with me and answered all of my questions. He came over for a pre visit to check out his working area and brought over some nibbles to taste while we collaborated on the menu. The day of the dinner Chef Matthew arrived promptly and was so efficient. The evening flowed perfectly and the food was fantastic. From the bacon wrapped dates to the fabulous Cornish Game Hens, the food was so amazing, I had a hard time not literally licking my plate. I had quite the guest list from Northwest, to Big Sky Country, to across the pond English Lady, to the most Southern of Southern Bells, and they all loved the wonderful meal that Chef Matthew prepared. They loved it so much that there is talk of making this an annual event. I highly recommend Chef Matthew for anyone who is looking for a Chef who is passionate about the food he prepares and makes the food taste amazing. Thank you Chef Matthew for an awesome night!

  • How did you get started doing this type of work?

    Cooking has always been a passion for us. This concept also ties into our philosophies of helping others. We hire high school and college students as well as returning veterans as a function of our helping desires. We also do several charity events and community events so that we not only feed others, but feed our souls at the same time. Every customer is contributing to the support of sustainable locally produced products as well as our goal to create jobs in the community

  • What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?

    BBQ is an art and as such requires the tools of the trade. Our custom made smoker BBQ has the ability to maintain a consistent temperature over long periods of time. In addition, due to the cook times it is important to have a friendly and outgoing service provider to interact and accent the event.
