FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I normally charge $30 per hour for individual, private French lessons. For couples, that goes up to $45 per hour. Most people prefer to have one lesson per week. However, this pricing system is on somewhat of a sliding scale -- if my asking rate is more than what you're willing to pay (but you still really want to learn French!), ask me about compromising on a lower rate!
- What types of customers have you worked with?
Most of my students are adults who want to travel in France without feeling completely lost in the daily language, so we cover useful phrases and vocabulary for typical travel situations: restaurants, the bank, travel exchanges, etc. In college, I also tutored students who wanted a little extra support on the material they were learning in class, which was often more grammar- than vocabulary-heavy.
- What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
It's actually really fun. Speaking a different language is kind of like a secret superpower.
