With over 400 hours of Japanese teaching experience via Wyzant Tutoring, I will help instill confidence in you that you can learn Japanese and also make it fun! What makes me unique as a tutor is that I was born and raised in Japan and have Japanese native-level mastery (in terms of grammar, pronunciation and cultural understanding). Students have shared that they have appreciated my ability to answer questions regarding grammar clearly. I cater my lessons to each student and try to incorporate a variety of learning techniques. I also speak French proficiently and am currently learning Spanish, so I have insight into what it's like to learn a new language as an adult. UPDATE: I currently have limited availability and am only taking students 15 years of age and above.

Marisa has been working with my son for the past 2 years. He really enjoys his lessons with her and looks forward to them each week. I love that she teaches him both about the language and the culture of Japan. She has always been prompt with responding to messages and communicates changes in schedule in a reasonable amount of time.

Amazing lector, adjusting to student's needs which is IMHO important. Not forcing use of traditional books like Genki as I can't learn via traditional "school" methods. Best language teacher I ever had (this is my 6th language I am learning).
