Introduction: I've been a personal trainer for 14+ years now and love that I get to utilizing my knowledge and experience to help others along their journey. During our sessions we’ll talk about nutrition & hydration, past injuries & muscular imbalances, gut health, inflammation, your motivational factors, and how it all works together. It sounds like a lot but when we break it down you’ll find that it’s not as complicated as you may have thought. During this process we’ll put together a plan specific to your needs and keep you progressing towards your goals. With every client it is my goal to empower you with as much information as possible so you have the tools to do it all on your own if/when you choose to do so. For our first meeting I like to put new potential clients through an easy workout to get a feeling for where they're at and also so they can get a feel for my style and energy. This is a complimentary workout/consultation. I work with clients outdoors in various parts of the Portland area... at their jobs, homes, and any other locations that we have access to. All you have to do is show up with a yoga mat and water and I'll have all the equipment set up and waiting for you. Ben has been very timely, professional and supportive in coaching my son. I was a bit nervous about setting up a personal trainer for him given he has had some bad experiences with prior coaches in school settings but Ben put him at ease right away and has been a big part of increasing his drive to get healthy and fit. He has provided a good balance of education, inspiration and encouragement. I cannot say enough good things about Ben's work so far. So glad we connected!

Ben is a great trainer. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for a training on their own terms. He tailors workouts to my specific needs while pushing me to make progress. Everything you’d want in a trainer. Punctual, professional, and always prepared. Ben comes with a whiteboard of exercise he expects to run though the sessions. There is variability within workouts and he’s always trying to incorporate new movements.

I am a work week traveler and found myself in Portland Monday-Thursday for a 6 week job. Wanting to get into shape, I turned to the internet to find a personal trainer to hold me accountable to get fit while on the road....and man did I luck out. Ben was fantastic not only did I lose 12 pounds, I gained healthy eating habits and feel more engerized then ever. He will accommodate traveling to you and or a desired location which for me was a huge plus. We held workouts indoors and outdoors which was great for switching up the routine and learning new techniques to carry forward. I also learned that I could get greater results doing the right activities within a set time rather than spending a crazy amount of time in the gym. If your looking for a reliable motivator to get and keep you on the path of a healthy life style, Bens your guy. I wish I could clone him to continue the lessons in my home state.

My husband and I have been trying to get healthier for the past year or so but mainly focusing on cardio/weight loss and not resistance/muscle training. Ben was very knowledgeable and helpful for our first real workout! He pushed us hard enough that we are definitely going to be sore but understood our limitations. He was also incredibly kind and patient answering all our questions. Highly recommend!!

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

    We get together for a free workout and go over your goals, health issues, past injuries, etc so I can formulate the proper plan for you to consistently progress while we work together. This initial workout allows me to see your mechanics, fitness level, and also allows you to get a feeling for my training style. Everybody wins!

    B.S. from PSU in Exercise Sport Science/Health Studies and 13+ years of experience as a Fitness & Health Pro. Best athlete (Athletic Director's opinion) and strongest person pound for pound to ever go though my high school. Retired D1 athlete.
