Ben has been very timely, professional and supportive in coaching my son. I was a bit nervous about setting up a personal trainer for him given he has had some bad experiences with prior coaches in school settings but Ben put him at ease right away and has been a big part of increasing his drive to get healthy and fit. I am a work week traveler and found myself in Portland Monday-Thursday for a 6 week job. Wanting to get into shape, I turned to the internet to find a personal trainer to hold me accountable to get fit while on the road....and man did I luck out. Ben was fantastic not only did I lose 12 pounds, I gained healthy eating habits and feel more engerized then ever. He will accommodate traveling to you and or a desired location which for me was a huge plus. We held workouts indoors and outdoors which was great for switching up the routine and learning new techniques to carry forward. I also learned that I could get greater results doing the right activities within a set time rather than spending a crazy amount of time in the gym. This has been the best personal training experience I've had. Ben is professional, knowledgeable, and flexible. He is the perfect balance of motivation and reassurance, never pushing harder than I can go but always encouraging me to do my best. He makes workouts interesting and fun, incorporating the things I enjoy and switching it up so I don't get bored. Ben is a fabulous personal trainer! I started as a total beginner (e.g., clueless about the equipment, lingo) and he has guided me toward a more active and healthier lifestyle. My husband and I have been trying to get healthier for the past year or so but mainly focusing on cardio/weight loss and not resistance/muscle training. Ben was very knowledgeable and helpful for our first real workout! He pushed us hard enough that we are definitely going to be sore but understood our limitations. - What is your typical process for working with a new customer?We get together for a free workout and go over your goals, health issues, past injuries, etc so I can formulate the proper plan for you to consistently progress while we work together. This initial workout allows me to see your mechanics, fitness level, and also allows you to get a feeling for my training style. Everybody wins!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?B.S. from PSU in Exercise Sport Science/Health Studies and 13+ years of experience as a Fitness & Health Pro.
