Hi, I’m Dr. Alex! Medicine has always been a part of my life. I grew up watching my mother, a Child Psychiatrist and my greatest inspiration, work her way through junior college, college, and medical school all while raising me. I was a member of the University of Oregon track team for all four years of college. Training alongside elite athletes, future Olympians, and world record holders, taught me invaluable lessons in optimizing human potential. After graduating from the University of Oregon, I received my Doctorate of Chiropractic from the University of Western States in 2014 and have been a practicing chiropractor ever since. In 2020, I decided to combine my expertise as a chiropractor with my experience in fitness and physical re-education. This led me to open up my own gym, Backside, in 2022. I believe the body has a miraculous way of healing itself when given the proper tools, which is what I do for my patients. While each person has unique fitness needs, the goal is the same — functional, pain-free movement.
