I find so incredibly thrilling the moment when my students experience the "light-bulb effect." Phrases such as "I FINALLY get it!!" "Ohhhhh that makes so much sense!" "I get it now!" enliven the enjoyment and delight that music offers. I studied Piano Performance at Pepperdine University, and then went on to earn my Graduate Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oregon. I teach mostly online/virtual classes at Linn Benton College as well as privately, and love getting students deeply excited with music. I take lessons at the speed of the student, while keeping in mind their goals and the music they enjoy. Music is a such an intellectual and emotional journey, and being able to impart the knowledge I have is something I believe I am here to do.

Becca has been teaching my four children for almost ten years! She is an amazing piano teacher who is able to tailor her lessons based on the child's level, learning style and preferences. I have begun taking lessons with her this past year also and she is great with adults too!! She has so many teaching techniques "up her sleeves" that if one way of teaching or learning isn't working, she is easily able to adapt and use other ways! Becca is adapt at teaching all styles of music, from classical to contemporary and jazz/blues, etc. I HIGHLY recommend Becca as a piano teacher!!

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I first like to find out the level of experience of my student and then identify their goals. Not everyone learns similarly, so finding out if my student is more visual/aural/kinesthetic, helps me adapt how to best teach them with their specific learning style. My expectation is for my student to learn, at whatever pace is appropriate, while also enjoying the process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a Graduate Degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Oregon, and I am also a member of the Music Teacher's Association of CA.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I have been teaching piano for over 2 decades, beginning with teaching my young neighbors when I was a teenager.
