FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Basic tuning for pianos that are well maintained starts at $175. If your piano needs a catch-up service (hasn't been tuned in years, needs some work to get it in shape), my full service appointment is $250. I'll talk to you before doing any work beyond those rates! No surprises.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It's easy, just contact me and I'll help you set up an appointment. I'll ask you a few questions about your piano. The first time I come I'll do a full evaluation of the condition of the instrument, tune it, do some minor repairs and mechanical calibration, and schedule the next visit. I send automatic reminders so you don't have to worry about losing track of appointments.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I learned aural tuning from the International Piano Technicians School. I am a Certified Piano Technician with The Artisan School and a member of their mentorship program. I'm fortunate to have several top-notch mentors who are veterans in the trade, and I'm preparing to take exams to become a Registered Piano Technician with the Piano Technicians Guild.
